you seem to think people who  put millions in FD dont know how to invest
inflation will eat away their money etc.

You forgot to look at the quantum.
the actual amount of money you can get from it
be  investment or FD.

example
A has 500k to invest - go hard for 10% return.
Good year got 10% return =RM50,000,
passive income RM4166 pm. happy.
Bad year?

B has RM10M in FD ,monthly got  RM20833 to spend
Does he need to worry about inflation?
i dont think  inflation will eat away his money.

High risk high return, just how high the risk i need to take?
to earn enough to spend.
*
thank you for your answer..
wanted to hear from one of you about it. Now I know the reasons.

true now is a bad market year.. near the end invest will be safer. News will have hints when that time will be.

I just pumped KDI invest more up to 2.8k total

now wait for it to grow. Exceed 3k will then transfer some to KDI save for foc fee.

good time to top up when stocks hit all time lows.

1st of all, according to the TnC, fees only charge for DEPOSIT above 3k, not account value above 3k

2nd, you need to be clear why you're investing. If you are so concern about the fee and keep investment amount at 3k, assuming 8% pa compounding, it will grow to 6,476 10 years later. RM 6,476 will make a difference to your life 10 years later?

Even with 10%, 10 years later will be just merely RM 7,781

Why the hassle?
*
It is "amount invested in KDI Invest", stated here:
https://digitalinvesting.com.my/pricing/

This is just funds park in KDI Invest for easy access (i'm in Balanced portfolio). My bulk is DIY investing via IBKR - majority of my US stocks and ETFs are there like Google, Apple, VWRA, VUAA etc and growing smile.gif

Don't think it will be 10% in 10 years later, this is way off estimate. Just see price of CSPX (S&P 500 ETF) if you bought in 2010 compare to now:

Would like to ask forummers here..
The zero fees for KDI Invest, if less than RM3000, does not include "custodian fees" do they? It looks like there is this "custodian fees" included in the statement for KDI Invest...
*
it mentioned only "management fee" is free at their site:
https://digitalinvesting.com.my/pricing/

even if DIY, will need pay fee for Wise to transfer money. Or in IBKR need pay USD2 to convert from SGD to MYR. Somewhere along the way sure got charges.

have you try to transfer portion of the money to saving  / withdraw out?
*
No.. it was just changing the risk profile.

I deposited the money two months ago. May it’s from sale of bond etf? Balanced portfolio has a lot of that. Or maybe from dividends.

Can we open an account for our kid in KDI since they don't have multiple portfolio concept?
*
For kid better to put in SSPN account (using their own name) as you can claim yearly income tax for amount in it. In future will need SSPN if want to apply for study loan PTPTN. SSPN interest fluctuates yearly. Last few years was around 3-4%.

If got extra after putting in SSPN, then can then consider KDI or other investments (but need to use parents name).

For the moment tried RM500 into fdi invest growth profile. Down RM1.50 upon approval
*
KDI Invest takes time to grow.

So far aggressive or very aggressive growth seems to be doing well with most users. Can try these first.

Alright noted, what are the returns
*
can ask those that have statement for it. On the list of ETFs invested. Or can search past posts here.
They have very diverse ETFs - including Brazil, S&P 500 etc and is managed by AI.
I had switched to very aggressive recently.. but it was only last week.
Can start to see it improved if compare to Balanced.

QUOTE(MUM @ Jun 24 2022, 07:45 AM)
Yea but this is "since Feb 2022". If enter recently some said to be positive liao.
Maybe those who invested longer can post their returns here.

Recently I was looking for the asset to be included in my StashAway flexible portfolio…guess what, the assets which are bullish are very very less in the SA available asset list.

Just my 2 cents..
*
there's no re-optimization for SA flexible portfolio though. Need to self manage.

Also SA charges a higher fee (flexible has same fees also) compare to KDI . Can see their breakdown here:

https://www.stashaway.my/pricing
https://digitalinvesting.com.my/pricing/

every year the fees will add up and become a big snowball later on.

that's only 1 year.. if invest 1 year then didn't make how? biggrin.gif

KDI save even better, if below RM3k they FOC manage for you biggrin.gif
good for those who wanna try things out or don't have much to invest with.

btw I tried stashaway before liao.. when they were messing around with KWEB. Withdrew everything when I see my funds kept going downwards.
Prefer KDI Invest over them. The return numbers speak for themselves.

Need to download statement on every 1st of the month to see what etf went up or down. There’s no other way of checking in detail.

FSM manage portfolio I join last year. Every month do DCA but until today still red red. Buy time already charge 1%, now -ve return but they still charge me management fee every quarter.   ranting.gif  ranting.gif

That why I try to research and found this KDI. Not sure how it perform compare FSM manage portfolio.
*
try yourself to see la with small amount e.g. 200-300 (below RM3k KDI manage FOC for you - no management fee). choose "aggressive" or "very aggressive" both doing well according to forummers here.
Once you confident then slowly DCA in more every month. This is the best way to know.

Balanced and Conservative returns not doing too good now due to Fed raising interest rates causing Bond prices to fall.

Best is DIY but need much more steps transfer here and there with Wise / CIMB SG. I'm moving fully into DIY already after consulted with my investor friends.
Both can open fully online but some people don't like leceh or just scare. Money in overseas also. So some will opt for roboadvisor like KDI Invest. smile.gif But at least you're better off in investing rather than letting money sit idle in the bank.

as for your FSM investments just leave them there till make profit only withdraw la. Else lose a lot if sell now.
Also stop DCA with them liao since you hear bad feedback from others here too.
