In Oz u will face less racial bias if u r a professional like engineer, doctor, architect, programmer, STEM jobs that the whites shun. What is your daughter's occupation?

My hobbies needs a lot more time..learning electronics to refurbish retro computers, play piano/guitar, learn coding for retro machines (my background is coding), learn Japanese...all these needs loads of time and not simple...

And also need to clear all my backlogs of videogames....muahahahaha!

Where got time!

Having more money is meaningless for me...to me even if you add another zero behind my current net worth, it won't change my lifestyle. I have no desires for wasteful expensive stuff. Hopefully I can achieve Nirvana soon in a couple more lifetimes.
*
if suddenly there is an extra 0 in my networth, my long term mean spending pattern also won't change.
But sure heck I would take the opportunity to cut out 10% (ie current one now) of the new networth, divided it by 12 and forced myself to spend that amount each month. That should be fun.... oh wait, I think got movies out about forced spending already.

haha.

Updated above...but I guess RM2.5k per pax is a safe calculation.

And I am totally debt free (when I choose to retired, I cleared all my debts).

this is a good number... reminds me of starting pay which gets me thinking... 50% above minimum wage should be a very reasonable amount

my planning is rm 100 per pax per day for comfy living...

This is the number I’m aiming for too including the kid as well even if they hitting working bracket soon. The gap is now how to get another 50% more to cater for those unexpected non regular expenses.

Just wanted to be safe/conservative to plan for it. If kid fully settled down, then it’s bonus la.

Yes and no. Overseas tax you 40-50% of your pay. So you are only left with 50-60% of your pay. Unless you work in low tax country like Singapore.

That is correct. Because of the strength of ringgit I get increment all the time because my salary in SGD and stay in KL.

but honestly when I was younger retirement never cross my mind. Was more interested in international exposure. I even went to Pakistan to work because nobody wanted to go. That was fun.

what you have is the best geographical arbitrage for a employee.... like you said, the exchange rate advantage is like having a 3X special item multiplier effect in attack points for retirement... biggrin.gif

Any better would be to the olden days full expat package when being posted overseas.

Actually I quit my job too. Told my boss to f**k off. He said you don't need the money meh? I told him if I need the money I would be working. I am resigning right? He got a shocked and keep quiet.

My passive income have more or less match my active income so I took the leap of faith. But I will still be working free lance.

Cannot tahan the horrible office politics in this Chinaman company.

Will be experiencing what is lean FIRE is like. Lol.

It’s hard to find Malaysian to be expat even if the salary was usd10k like 15 years ago. Even if the job is doing nothing much. End up I have to find a Filipino.
