Yup, snip2, neuter, call it whatever you want.

It's not easy to breed animals, especially your own pet, if you really love them. It's kindda sad to put them thru the whole breeding process. So I'd rather be a responsible owner and have my pets neutered.

There's a lot of positive sides to see too, for instance, no more "botak" head, no more musking, no more naked/yellow chest and so on smile.gif

I just hope the procedure will be okay smile.gif

I'll keep it posted for everyone.

dai,

Besides mealworm and cricket, the other big one that loves like mealworm is called 'super worms'. That also can, but not all suggies like it, summore look so ugly tongue.gif

Other than that, we don't have lor available here (you can refer to the 1st page about this what). In the US, the can get farm raised grasshoppers, june bugs and so on. We don't have those in Malaysia.

Dai
To add to what KP said , we can only get mealies & crickets here in Thailand as well, But Weigal ( Care of Australian Reptiles in captivity ) states that crickets have a higher nutrition value than grasshoppers ( locusts ) anyway but more than mealies ie in order
crick's (1 )
locusts ( grasshoppers (2 )
mealies ( 3 )

Can supply "care sheet" on keeping & breeding locusts ( grasshoppers.

I dont think the grasshoppers they breed to feed rep's & other animals are the local garden type - I think they are bigger
If you like I can send the relevant pages from the above mentioned book on how to breed & collect the eggs

Watermelon, it makes the poo watery loh hahh.... fruits needs to be fed everyday, same as the mix if possible. Feed fruits in the morning and mix at night, or vice versa. Up to you lah.

Bigger? I did see large ones before, can say almost 3 inches in length, it was yellow and spotted with black.... is that the species?

Feed watermelon poo not quite red, when you feed papaya, muhahahha more red. I get shock when I see it.
Hmm are you guys keep your own mealworm for breeding or just buy from pets shop? Remember last time i when to pets shop there they selling rm2 for each cup.
Is it nice that i let Ah Pit come out and feed mealworm for bonding or just feed inside the cage?
These few day i play with Ah Pit, i feel that if playing with her too long time she will want to go home, when she see her own cage she will want to go there. But when inside the cage, she not tire, later she will want to come out again.....

The ones I have seen up here have been smaller - I think the yellow & black is a particular species. I think the ones used for animals are locusts more so than grasshoppers. From a scientific perspective the yellow & black sounds very interesting.

I think it would be hard to breed grasshoppers since it's hard to find here. Ah, nevermind, I'll stick to mealworms and crickets hahahah.

Vincent, feed the mealworms when she is on you. Don't wait for cage or when she is far from you. The best is bonding and feeding on your body.

Rm1 is alot... maybe 100? I can't even agak coz it depends on size. Some mealworms are young and small.... and they measure by small cups.... so no way to know how many.

I usually buy RM3, last me for a month hahahah.
