Sometimes some dogs cannot tolerate an ingredient, if Acana also causes some reaction,... then it could be another ingredient that is similar to Orijen that is causing the problem, not the protein percentage.

Actually, nutriEdge is good wan. I also gave some good feed back mah hahaahah.... but then it will only be good for  some dogs and not good for some.
Watery poo, if a few days is ok. When Chelsea started Orijen, she had watery poo for 2 days, then only turn solid and now ok.

Hahaha... my dad stores his 15kg kibbles in those big black tong sampah bins..... so far no problem. No worms... no mold, no insects.
Wahh..... I want my Chelsea to be like Kero..... LOL.... but Chelsea got super expensive taste.... now she likes the Addiction's Kangaroo and Apples..... so expensive, 1.4kg is Rm39! Pengsan loh....... Chelsea Chelsea..... must get tongue transplant lah, get a tongue that likes cheaper brands LOL.... kidding hahahaha....

I did experience those worms in the dogfood.... particularly with dogfoods like Science Diet, Eukanuba....
Fish? No fish... either chicken or lamb flavour....

yeah, nutriedge is good for me also, coz my dog eats it, haha..........just that for that price, v can get a better quality kibbles base on the ingredients. Mayb nutriedge is still new, so need time to build up its reputation gua.

But storing the kibbles in the "tong sampah" is sweat.gif
Imagine, everyday u take out the food from the "tong sampah" and feed it to our dogs. sweat.gif sweat.gif rclxub.gif haha..............

Yah, certain dogs would have good fur and health from NutriEdge, some won't gain effect.... coz no 1 dogfood is perfect for every dog heheheh....

Hahaha... 15kg mah, alot loh. Use those black tong sampah, really fill 15kg nicely. Summore is cheaper than the Toyogo round bins....

I haven't try Natural Balance before, but when i gave some solid gold kibbles from a sample pack to my GR and ckcs, both also poo watery poo.  rclxub.gif Now, don't really dare to simply try dog food already.
I just bought the CN herring and potatoes for shushu  - whew, smell so fishy!  doh.gif
Initially shushu don't want to eat but after i mix other kibbles inside he finished them. Now, he can eat the CN herring without other kibbles.  thumbup.gif Kero is direct opposite of Chelsea. I am giving him innova evo but he keep stealing shushu's CN herring.......dry.gif. I think he likes the fishy smell.
Hmmm, shushu was feed with Nutriedge during his puppy days - I admit the fur was good and he likes it a lot. However, the kibbles really grows worm before we manage to finish (for 15kg ones). I keep buying 3kgs pack almost weekly just to keep the kibbles fresh - quite a hassle. I think the poo stinks more too.  tongue.gif

Hmmm, on container - another suggestion is you can buy those biscuit in the tin and use the tin to store kibbles after the biscuit finished. It is really airtight and keeps the kibbles fresh.  smile.gif  No need to spend extra money on the plastic container too - just buy the biscuit  brows.gif

my dog first take Nutriegde is very good lately kibble change size and heard that is local manufacture but smell very salty then my dog got problem skin the whole body got lump like pimple then stop now on Natural Balance with 4 meal type (chicken, lamp, fish and duck) but he don't like it , first few day poo watery later very hard. i have to mix with eukanuba can food meat he only eat half only. after 1 month try back nurtiedge same thing happen to the skin doh.gif never try again.

One of my furkids won a bag of nutri edge before. Fed it as a snack, nothing to report sweat.gif
But I find nutri edge's redemption campaign distasteful and unethical (or at the very least irresponsible) - the top tier redemption is a puppy from selected breeds doh.gif

easy, try Blackwood. NOt too expensive, many place got stock, no serious issues reported, poo less smell, not much improvement on coat. Meaning this kibbles is just so-so, but better than pedigree lah.

got reviews for nutriedge wor. Mind to tell wat breed is your dog? long hair? short hair? big breed or small breed?
And which nutriedge u r feeding? chicken or lamb?
Wait till my FIFI finish the canidae, and all the innova and california natural sample, will go back to nutriedge again.
btw, nutriedge got fish or not gah??

Nutriedge got omega oil which is derived from fish. I have used Nutridege for almost a year and the result is really good. My dogs never had coat so thick before. No more digestive problems. Best of all you need to feed only 75% of normal ratio from other brands. In the long run, cost efffective too. I alternate my dogs on Nutiredge chicken or lamb.

it's no point to listen to who to say which dog food is good cause not all dog food is suitable for all dogs.. some dogs have sensitive stomach, some allergic on certain food, so there is no point to ask around..

the best thing is you tried on certain brand and if your dog is ok and enjoy eating the brand, then stick with it..

changing the dog food all the time is actually not good for the dog.

just remember that if the dog food cause improvement on the dog's health, then it's the best dog food FOR YOUR FURKIDS but doesnt mean that other furkids will get the same results.

So many NutriEdge supporter. On the contrary, I dont really like NutriEdge. It was the brand that the breeder fed Moonie, my second Westie.

When I first got her, she was a bit sickly, so I bought the NutriEdge just to ensure that she dont have to change her food and give her diarrhea. I only fed her about 2 weeks, then I throw away the rest for the crows to eat when white fungus / worms start appearing at the bottom of the tong.

I have a Min. Schnauzer and a Siberian Husky....

For my Min. Schnauzer i alter Stage 3 mini bites and Lamb and Rice now and then.......
As for my Husky, i feed her Stage 2 as she needs higher protein content to accomodate her high exercise level! hehex....

Nutriedge only got Chicken and Lamb formula wor.........

Wow, first time I see people promote NutriEdge. On the other hand, my dogs cant seem to get themselves settled with Nutriedge lor. Watery poo, dont want eat, etc.

*
So far, all my friends who tried Nutriedge never accounter watery poo and the not-eating problem wor..
In fact, i actually encourage my friends to change 100% of their pooches' food from other brands to Nutriedge....

(For other brands, when you change, firstly you need to change by 25% new food then rest old food.. then slowly to 100% new food..... But Nutriedge, you can change 100% immediately and never a problem)

True story har...
My Husky had EXPLODING watery poo for 2 MONTHS when i fed him with Eaglepack...
I got so fed up with all the cleaning i had to do..... plus i couldnt see any substance in my dog...
I changed to Nutriedge 100% then, i didnt even bother with the "change from 25% then slowly to 100%" theory...
and guess what, immediately i get SOLID poo for the first time!!!!!!!!
Happy till i almost laughed to death.............

HAHAHAHAA....

This is the thing for ANY dog food...
You cannot put them on the floor.......
coz the floor gives moisture...... thus enhancing the growing of fungus and "worms"......

I've never encounter this problem, coz i keep the kibbles in air-tight containers and on a table....

A quick report...

Tried half a packet of orijen (got free from a friend  brows.gif ) Discontinued feeding Novacoat supplements. Siu Kat's coat is indeed shinier and smoother than usual. Normally if i discontinue Novacoat, there'll be noticable dryness/dullness in the fur.

Most importantly, with Orijen, sh*t size is very much reduced and smells less (a must for indoor dogs  smile.gif )

Siu Wan unfortunately developed some kind of rashes after a week or so. Mine are indoor, couch potato dogs, so perhaps the high protein content is a no-go.

A real bummer then because for Siu Kat, Orijen works wonders  sad.gif

Since Orijen is out, went to Seapark to replenish Eagle Pack supplies, but guess what, something new came in...

Some reviews from Dog Food Reviews:

http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_re...duct=1082&cat=4
http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_re...duct=1083&cat=4

A bit pricy, but seeing that Orijen doesn't work for Siu Wan and that i am no longer satisfied with Eagle Pack or Blackwood, decided to give the fish and potatoes pack a try. Plan to try the organic one next.

Anyone's tried this before?
*
Anyway, a Hong Kong friend of mine sent me these earlier.....
Some importer tried to push this brand in Hong Kong earlier this year... But due to this incident...
This brand didn't work out in Hong Kong's market.....

Natural Balance was actually recalled in the US in April this year.....
Anyone knows the importer of Natural Balance in Msia??
Should call them up and ask them about it............ for the safety of our furkids!

bbqueeniez ,

wah, alot of readings had been done leh...........good good. My shih tzu FIFI's hair is not that glossy now, and seems like easier to get tangled and shedding. Later might tried on Nutriedge see how's the hair condition.
I would like to know hows the skin and hair condition of ur MS and husky, good? got feed any supplement for that?
I wanna know coz my fifi is always scratching, fur easy to drop out, but no bald patch lah. Bring to the vet, said no problem, confirm not mange, no ticks and fleas. At first i thought is food allrgic, but after changing to lamb, still the same. Then i think is corn, so change to no corn kibbles, and its still the same. So i suspect is only dry skin.

Long time I didn't buy Nutriedge already but I also did heard that their recipe changed a bit. So that could be the problem. Every dog tolerates different dog food differently, so all you can do is try till you come across a good brand that gives you good results. For me, Nutriedge did give good results 2 years ago.... and that was when I fed Eukanuba, EaglePack, Nutro and Innova Evo.... the only brands that gave good results to my dogs were California Natural, Orijen, Addiction and Back To Basics..... so go on trying till you find one that is suitable and stick with it.

Well, I suggest you look get sample packs or buy trial packs first. Do not straight away buy 7kg or 15kg... go to a petshop, ask for samples. Normally dogfood like Eaglepack, California Natural, Canidae, Royal Canin got samples.... Nutri Source, Proformance.... sample packs..... but food like NutriEdge, ANF... erm... gosh, Blackwood and others they have trial packs of 1kg..... go and try 1 box out. If you see your dog have good firm stool, no vomiting, no shedding and he eats like crazy, then buy that brand.

You judge the dogfood yourself. Look at the ingredients. Make sure no corn or wheat, no by-products and no artificial flavouring or colouring.... We can only give you a rough guide on the brands that we like.... but like most of us said before, each dog would react differently to any brand....

The white fungus would appear on dogfoods that have too much moisture in their product.
