not only i scare mikey overweight...
i wan him to b full oso lo..as if i wan him to be content with his meals and the high level of protein in orijen is not suitable for mikey as i already tried acana which has lower protein content but he already have red spots come out and for some reason a great increase with his tear stains....

Yups. That's true. It is also better to have the water at shoulder level.... reason is gulping in air..... it causes bloat, which is a painful disorder of the stomach....

Every dog tolerates each brand of dogfood differently.... so eaglepack can be good for 1 pup but bad for another.

Dogs can vomit from eating too fast, wolfing down their food in a few minutes.... sometimes barking after food can cause vomiting, same with minor jumping and running or playing. So best is to let your dog relax for about 30 minutes after a meal before letting it play or run around.

Yups, water bowl. As you put the water bowl at shoulder level, your dog doesn't need to bend down. It lessens the gulping so less air goes into their tummies. My boxer and lab both eat on stands, their bowls are on stands that are at their shoulder level and their water bowl is on a step, so it is raised up. Normally bloat is quite common in big dogs.... but for your dogs, you could try this and see if the vomiting stops or continue....

A water bottle controls such over drinking of water.... but not every dog likes a bottle hahahah....

The amount of water from a water bottle is too little. Every time their tongue strokes the cap, it drips a few drops. It needs too much work and Casper hardly ever touches his water, so I give him a bowl instead in order for him to drink when he feels like it. On the other hand, water is probably the best food for Moonie, she ALWAYS finishes her water bowl VERY quickly no matter how much we give her, so now, we only fill his water bowl ~2 - 3 hours for about ~125ml (soft drink can capacity), and she pees a lot. Is it healthy for dogs or will water wash away their nutritients?

Now, I need to look for a step up for my doggies to drink their water from. Thanks for the idea!

Yah, Chelsea gets very frustrated with the bottle.... so she takes from a bowl too but she doesn't drink too much.

Hmmm... somehow, Moonie drinks ALOT! Wow.... Hmmm... I would be concerned a bit. Do read this:

http://www.todaysthv.com/life/pets/AskDrBo...x?storyid=14134

Maybe get a urine test for Moonie to check.

Anyway, you can give a bit of Gatorade mixed with normal water for Moonie to drink so her body doesn't run out of minerals.... 1:1 of Gatorate to Water.

Yes she drinks aplenty while Casper drinks little. Now that's worrisome. I will speak to the vet when I bring her there for her last vaccination this Saturday.

Why recommend me mix Gatorade? Can I find that in 7-Eleven?

Gatorade is an isotonic drink with no CO2... so not gassy and safe for dogs. Since she drinks so much water and if you worry she doesn't get enough minerals, you can always give diluted gatorade as a treat.... LOL.... is not everyday, maybe like a once a week drink. It can be just a few spoons of the drink. Yes, you can find at 7-11.

Yah, talk to your vet about her drinking habit, if the vet thinks she should do a urine and blood test, then do it.

The 1st kibbles to feed them is wat the breeder is feeding them. Get a small pack 1st, then when its almost finish, get ur desired pack, small pack also, then change slowly.
For me lah, if my dog is small breed, I'll get those higher quality one, like orijen, innova, nutriedge, eaglepack.........although more expensive, but size small, so eat less loh.
But if big breed dog, will go for Blackwood, nutrochoice, back2basic,purina proplan.......big size, eat more. But if got money, then only change to higher quality one.
For eukanuba, some say got smelly poo, but some got no problem with, u think u lah.

Ok, thanks for the info., will get a small pack first then switch slowly. biggrin.gif

I'm going for Orijen too. tongue.gif

*faintz* who asked you to buy 20KGs for your MINI!! lolz... don't tell me you bought from the breeder..... There is actually different formula for puppy and adult dog. You are not recommended to feed your puppy with adult formula, unless you are getting All Life Stage formula. (correct me if I am wrong)

But, it is alright to soak the kibbles as long as you don't pour the excess water away. If you found out you have put in too much water to soak, reduce it when you do it next meal.

Added on December 22, 2007, 11:20 amOh and, that is more then a year supply of food, make sure you keep them well, else later "masuk angin" then not nice to eat liao... or maybe got worms come *yucks* if you haven't open, better you give back the breeder and buy a new smaller pack for puppy lor....

Cause breeder can get breeder pack... of course can sell cheaper, and it is still sounds stupid to ask you to buy..... you only have one small dog.. somemore it is puppy stage now. You better store them nicely.

haihz...another dishonest breeder ler .. sad.gif
i think the adult formula contains lesser protein than in the puppy formula as after they grow up, they wouldnt need so much for growth anymore.....

store it nicely la...but check the expiry date oso...
