Wah! So the tri SLi thing is now confirmed. Hopefully the SLi bridge is readily available. If performance is really good then it wud b worth a try. I'm hoping it's not a farce like how the very 1st Quad SLi turned out. I was waiting n waiting for the Quad SLi driver for the 7950GX2 last time until neck oso long n the promised performance of Quad SLi with 7950GX2 never materialised.

Any benchmarks on games done? Cause I more concern in gaming rather than synthetic benchmarks. 8800GT would really shine.

i did actually.
hmm on 22 inch mainly was on par with the gtx.. stock again to remind u on that

but when gamed at 24 the 320mb was a definitely a limiting factor.

it beats the gtx only in opengl games 22inch and lower .. because of the 2100mhz mem speed.

well is it worth it??..hell yeah since nvidia is not coming out with anything new and there wont be a phenomenal gpu till next year... .so just to keep the fight going out a wee bit longer.

guys, I'm picking up a rig here. Need some help here. Why should I pick 8800GTS over 8600GT? Mind elaborate?

I'm not that hardcore on games except FPS or racing. I spend most of my time designing and messing with photoshop.

Better. Performance. That pretty much sums it up.

http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/10/09/directx_10_shootout/

Then again, it depends on your budget and resolution. No point getting 8800 for a puny 1024 x 768.

Recommended at least a 400w PSU with at least 26A on the +12v rail.

However, it is advisable to have a higher wattage PSU, preferably one with true power....

590/940...the memory seems like no limit, until 960mhz where it says cannot pass internal test...950mhz got a bit shadowing problem...940mhz cant detect any yet...

if u have no demand on the card... it last 4ever until card dies....... wat i wanna mean is depend on ur demand... maybe u cant stand abit lag... so change every 3 month.... if u can stand all low setting+ lowest resolution setting(640x480res)... it might last about errr.... 5years(since stil got ppl using geforce4 now)?

I just got news from BFG person regarding 8800GT OC and OC2. BFG will start selling them to customer channel in November. Thus, at the moment they will continue to sell the GTS and waiting to see what is the outcome after the GT release later.

This means, there is possibility that GTS will be discard depends on GT demand and performance wise.

Have the same thought cause of the limited RAM. Guess my card won't last so long. XD

It's built on 65nm die compared to previous 90nm, should emits less heat.
