I'm also one of Sony fan where my family home and myself has been using Sony TV for more than 20 years. But due to pricing which not very attractive, I've decided to change my 10 year old Sony tv to another brand.
Myself and my parents had never owned a Sony TV cause they seem to have fixed lifespan (great engineering š¤£). However my first one was a 65ā A80J and I got hooked up, second is a 77ā A80K. Both being used and love the PQ.
Sony knows they have a very strong fanbase when it comes to TV Some people will die die only buy Sony TV
well we'll see what their 2024 models will bring. They will have a flagship miniled with quite a leap in the tech, but whether they will bump the 90 series up to miniled remains to be seen
Most of the PS5 die hard fan always love to promo Sony TV Die Die will say Sony TV perfect
It's quality is good but there are still some cons 1) Dolby Vision cannot co-exist with VRR (well, PS5 also dun have DV not like Xbox) 2) lack of full hdmi 2.1 port (only 2 is sufficient if only 1x PS5 console at home)
Kronoshop @ Lazada is having massive discounts with lazada bonus, and can add with sony extended warranty (2+3) - also got some discount š
alternatively, sony online store is having sale as well with discount code RAYA1600, as well as tng rm300 so price really goes down only RM5k++, plus got free gift keyboard āØļø to play
can register for sony rewards, get welcome voucher good to use RM30 extended warranty (2+3) a bit steep for me from sony but may or may not worth it for peace of mind only.
I bought the extended warranty coz when mine arrived, an hour later got 1 line from top to bottom in the middle of the screen. Crazy frustrated have to redeem warranty so soon. Then I heard Sony TV nowadays may die sooner than supposed to. Also coz the last Sony TV I had was from 2008, an LCD TV (with Bravia engine 2 which sucks btw) which until today somehow still working perfectly. So yeah, haven't experienced a more recent Sony TV so I better get the 5 years warranty for peace of mind.

wow, thatās crazy bad š±
well, i bought the extended warranty bcoz of thereās a sign šŖ§ (at least to me it was like a guide). My water heater died just as I was looking to buy this tv. then I check the invoice just to see the warranty, and it showed I took extended warranty for it (5years) and it died two months from end of warranty ! call the shop, they sent a technician and verified the problem, repaired it under warranty. wasnāt expecting failure from water heater as the other one (same brand) lasted way longer. around 10 i think and still working great.
So, thatās my reason for taking the extra warranty. At least for peace of mind. But the price really high š

So far I think if buying extended 5 year warranty, best to get from Sony Malaysia. Their extension cheaper than the rest. I have from Senheng and Desa Home, both are significantly pricier than Sony's.
Sharpen your eyes and check every edge & corner on new panel
Don't want to look so closely... else later emo again hahaha! But... the one had issue was super duper obvious.. it is not by pixel lol. It was by a bunch of pixels.

Haha, I know that feeling. I got my Sony X90K panel replaced due to dirt on the screen. Very emo and stress during that period.
Sony is going all out in the premium space. Bravia 3 is replacing the X70 - X80 series with X1 processor and NO local dimming. Bravia 7 replaces X90 series with miniLED and XR processor. Bravia 8 replaces A80 as entry level OLED. Bravia 9.... flagship miniLED (not sure if can be called the replacement to A90 series)

Quite impressive lineup for this year. Bravia 9 is apparently using the same backlight control tech utilized on the BVM HX3110, I am sure the price will be exp for this modelā¦
Now if only Bravia 7 price is right, might be one of the bestsellerā¦š
