]
The hardware that i used to reach 4GHz:
Intel Pentium 4 3.0E
CoolerMaster Hyper 6+ [CPU Cooler]
Kingston Valueram DDR PC-3200 400MHz 512MB X 2 [Double Sided, Chapalang Chipset]
ICute 450W Twin Fan PSU
ATI 9550 256MB
Where got expensive stuff?
Normal only.
These are the motherboards that i've used before that can push my 3.0E to 4GHz without any hickups:
ASUS P4P800 Deluxe
ASUS P4P800-E-Deluxe
ASUS P4C800 Deluxe
ASUS P4C800-E-Deluxe
What's important to me is the mobo itself.

yaaaaaaa.. agreed the mobo is the most important thing!!!

Hehe.. Depend on the ram & procs as well. If can push higher sure will wanna go beyond 4Ghz!

Getting new parts? Thats great bro. Im searching for better ram as well. Haha.. Found Supertalent brand ram in garage. 250 for 1G kit include postage. Is that worth?

The ram claim can run at 2-2-2-5 speed wo.. Supertalent or Teem extreme?
Btw, just tried with 3.61G and guess wad.. 10secs prime then restart me!

Seems my current ram really hit the wall..
Why dont you try use only 2 x ram ?? use the blue slots first...
