guys,
I've been hunting bluetooth adapter at the market that is compatible with mac osx but so far, seller cannot confirm anything about whether the adapter can be run on mac osx or not. all is windows compatible only. therefore, can anyone confirm whether the china made brand usb adapter for bluetooth that is available at the market right now is working very well with the mac osx 10.6.7 i cannot buy now due to no warranty or refund can be given by the seller if this is not working on mac osx. hope you guys can advise. thanks. |

QUOTE(wiraone @ Apr 25 2011, 09:20 PM) That is pretty much limited if you're starting from scratch.. have no idea if this can be done. But if you're salvaging from whatever setup you've, you could build one with that budget. Probably starts with the Intel dual core processor E6500, find a 775 based mobo, tonymac uses lot of gigabyte mobos, so, probably best to get the GIGABYTE G31M-ES2L (and you could use the ES2L kit + Retail DVD copied into a flashdrive).. hmmm probably should stretch abit more to 1500 To keep to the RM1K budget, you could leave out the DVD/CD. What you need only the processor, mobo, video card, RAM (4GB is good enough to start with), and 500GB or 1TB HD. BoM based on CZone pricing: D.CORE E6500 - RM230 GIGABYTE G31M-ES2L - RM185 eVGA 8400GS 512MB GC - RM119 Kingston 4GB PC1333 RAM - RM130 Hitachi 1TB HD - RM155 CoolerMaster Elite 342/343 - RM109 CoolerMaster 460W Extreme Power - RM149 Total: RM1077 (w/o monitor, keyboard, mouse). i have a sweet 24" hp to pair it with. the donor pc is a AMD based system. |

Agreed, buying seconds is another way to save your budget since many have probably gone up to sandy bridge setup now.. so probably, you can find lot of them want to let go their current system/setup.
The main ingredient in cooking up hackintosh system is .. to check if someone has the same combination as the system we intend to run, running without a hitch .. what I did when I tried to build up my system before is to look for motherboard, processor, graphics card combination that someone has it working before (tonymac/insanelymac forums are really really helpful .. don't ask, lurk around, read.. read.. and read). When you've everything in your mind, then share with us here and someone could double check if the combination will work. But luck can be one important thing to consider too.. I wasted a motherboard because someone got it working, yes, I got it working too.. but not 100% as expected.. the asus p8p67 le that I've in a box now.. it installed fine, work fine, everything seems to be fine .. but .. when I shutdown the OS, after few seconds, the pc restart itself. Added on April 29, 2011, 8:47 amOh, BTW, I'm eagerly waiting for the new iMac to be announced .. if it doesn't meet my budget or expectation (looking for 24" one!) .. I'm going to build another unit for my own use .. Z68, i7 2600K is my target This post has been edited by wiraone: Apr 29 2011, 08:47 AM |

ISSC chips are not compatible
Anyway if you have bought a CSL bluetooth dongle , you may have to bless it fully to apple compatible adapter , read it over at my blog http://prasys.info/2011/04/fixing-csr-bluetooth-in-osx/ ISSC stuff does not work (el cheapo china brand bluetooth). If you can find D-link bluetooth adapter (Costs like RM 65) , get that |

Wa, why i7 2600k with h67? If he want to overclock, should use p67 motherboard instead. Most sandy bridge motherboards have problem with the basic multiplier, you need to bring it down.. To push them back up, use the turbo speed, no idea if h67 has this feature but I believe only available for p67 for now.

Check tonymac sandybridge forum at http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewforum.php?f=79 and the one under overclocking.
