GPU fried? I don't think it was due to OSX, might be some other factors that caused it. The easiest to get it up and running is to find a reference machine that people has successfully install and running the OSX. If you're building it from scratch, it is even easier since you can mix and match. I've installed it on my netbook before and just few weeks ago, on my newly built PC and they work just fine.

I'm kindda curious on how you actually run OSX smoothly on a non-apple compliant system.

Even if u manage to run it, dont u think on the downside of the updates for the motherboard ? A friend of mine friend his GPU while attempting to install OS leopard in his HP. It is a risky job

I could run smooth on my machine.. No doubt. Leopard & SL, can be installed easily tongue.gif

PS: This tread reached the limits already. Someone please start a V2 discussion smile.gif

Well, go ahead .. I guess if you can just create a new thread, then inform the moderators, they'll close this one.

BTW, I'm just wondering, what kind of casing you guys use for your hackintosh? The one I did few weeks ago, I'm using the Coolermaster Elite 360, the smallest that could accept full ATX motherboard. Wondering if there is any interesting case out there that has the 'look good' factor smile.gif

Anyway, my setup on my daughter's desk.

Silly nooby question but...

I currently have Win7 installed, if i install SL in another partition now, i will be able to dualboot both OSes and win7 is untouched without any use of special boot loaders rite??

If you install the tonymac way, it will install a Chameleon bootloader, it supposedly let you do the dual boot. Probably someone with this setup could verify it.

dual boot is possible but you will need the special boot loader to load the EFI. without EFI you cannot even boot the SL CD.

^ According to the guides (i use the same hardware as the guide), i would have to use iBoot Legacy...

So would i need to use iBoot Legacy EVERY single time i start my computer be it Win or Mac?

Get to tonymac86 website, it has the guide on how to get started. You need the iboot for installation, after that, you need to install Chameleon bootloader so you don't need the iboot cd anymore.

Yup, none that works OOB since they're not meant to run SL smile.gif Some have problem with their WIFI, bluetooth, sleep etc. That is bad thing about going Hackintosh way using a notebook .. you can't pick and match just like the desktop ones.
