iTunes uses PowerPC Emulation thats the problem and the generic AC-97 Driver , you might have some few bugs

If you're using Dell then you should try Sigmatel drivers

It works , there are some problems with the SSE2 Emulation with it. You need to install it manually , no jas' installer whatsoever

If you want some files , just pm me or meet me @ IRC , and I can arrange it for you

P.S - Not warez , just the kernel and some help + some cool stuff for your hack !

Again , read the wiki and search the forums of insanelymac. JUST USE THE SEARCH Function , its all there . Like I said , you need to have some 1337 knowledge on how to install kexts and stuff like that.

Again OSX has drivers for NVidia cards , all you need is EFI Emulation for it. Thank god , Jas' DVD And Tubgirl comes with them. So you just tick them and it will be installed for you

If you're looking for custom drivers made by a friend of mine ,DiaboliK . He has made it soo easy , then check out his site http://diabolik1605.com/DHF and for help on natit , join irc.osx86.hu , #natit

Again , you need to check what is causing waiting for root device...If you're installing on a 965P mobo , it will not work

I say if you're not up for this challenge , go ahead and get a mac. It saves you all the time and hassle !

With GMA 900/950 --> You get full hardware acceleration

GF 7400 --> Supported but I am not sure if the bulit-in LCD would work or not

QUOTE(bola @ Dec 20 2007, 11:13 PM)
hi
please allow me to clarify, its :
- an ASUS mobo
- intel core 2 duo processor
- 2 GB DDR2 RAM
- nvidia 7000 series vid card

now my questions:
- any particular ASUS motherboard? and which chipset?
- any DDR2 RAM? 533 667 or 800? any particlar brand working better than another?
- any particular nvidia 7000 card?
- hopefully all the above cost something around a total of RM1000-1200?

thanks in advance

sincerely,
hackintosh newbie

- Check out the list in OSX86/InsanelyMac. My suggestion is to go for 945 chipsets or 965 chipsets. The newer one should be okay. Go for Core 2 Duo , make sure it has SSSE3 and EM64T. You need that for PC EFI.

- Anything will do

- Nvidia GeForce 7300GT. Get this one. Dont get the 512MB version , get the 256MB version. Its pretty rare to find this card. This is one of the cards that just works. You pop in and bam it just works. If they dont have that in market go for ATi such as X1600. The latest and greatest X2600 XT and X2900 XT works as well (you gotta do some tweaking , and gotta install PC EFI). Worst come to worst pick a mobo which has GMA 950 and you are set

- yes you can build a hackintosh under $USD 250 as well. Its not a problem at all.
