how do i get the Monitor to sleep?
it would show whats on the monitor after the set timeout. eg if set the screen timeout to 5mins, whatever that is showing at that last moment is what the monitor will be stuck at. be it a screensaver or the desktop.

Kinda stuck at the apple logo screen, a small little error icon will pop up after several minutes and can't proceed anymore.

Is there any solution for this?

best if u guys have a mac to start the installation
or a bootable live mac
or pre installed mac osx on a separate hdd

to do a clean install, where you dump the modified kext into osx hidden efi partition and install boot efi on it

using this method can solve lots of issue and make updates easy

It's your GMA950 GC kext problem. Try searching for a suitable kext for your laptop.

Guide for Retail install with EFI partition. Thanks to Munky of Insanelymac forums. HERE

After you`ve install leopard on your hard disk you can clone it with Carbon copy cloner. You can then restore back the image later if you got problems. Even better if you have your bootloader on another partition.

cheers!

Hello people. I had finally get a copy of iATKOS 1.0. I had basically waste the whole evening yesterday trying to figure out how to get it to work. Finally I manage to install it.

However, there remains one big problem. I can't boot into it! I can boot into Windows 7 alright, without the need to repair it but I just can't boot into Mac OS.

I had tried to use bcdedit with elevated command prompt. When I try to boot it, it shows me a "Windows is loading files" which is from Windows 7 installation screen. Then after that it black out and restart.

I then download EasyBCD, and add a Mac entry. What happen is it show me a black screen and say something about the path not existing or something. The path is set by EastBCD as /NST/ma*somethingelse*.mbr
So, I change the path to Chain0, but it give me "Chain booting error" when I try to boot.

I am out of idea of how to make it boot. Anyone have any idea? Help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Boot with your iatkos dvd. Go to terminal :-

sudo -s

type diskutil list (take note of the disk and partition number that u install osx on )

./fdisk -e /dev/rdiskX (where X is the appropriate disk identifier)

f 1 (where 1 is the first partition of the disk)

w

y

q

reboot, now you should be able to os x installation. Boot with -f -v.

You should have the option to choose to boot vista partition or osx partition.

cheers!

Why not try the latest version of iatkos_5i? Btw what are your pc/notebook specs?

Ok definitely it will work. I'm just wondering about the stability. Has anyone had experience with Logic 8 and a mini studio? Mind sharing experiences? Thanx

I mean the workability and stabily it's depend on you hardwares. remember the macs now just like any pc, using intels, same chipset as pcs, same peripherals, same drivers. the only different is the boot loader, they use EFI instead of BIOS. and of course it's only the brand, Apple.

Has anyone manage to get their headphones out working for a built-in Intel Hi-def audio chip?
I followed so many guides and nothing works.

Running off iPC 10.5.6 on an Acer Aspire 5920G laptop.

I actually had to go out and buy and Asus Xonar X1 USB Soundcard to use my headphones. sad.gif
