haven't been testing it out much as the manual say that there's a break in period for 1000KM; drive under 90km, below 3 rpm. I forgo the 90km and just making sure i don't go above 3kRPM.

Looking forward for a road trip with this car.  Cheers

Congratulations on yr new ride.

Break in period doesnt mean use less. U can even road trip w it.

Actually modern engines hardly need to break in unlike older generations where engine components manufactured was not that precise and parts had to 'set' into each other.

For our baby,
A. Dont stress beyond 3000 Rpm and more importantly
B. Dont maintain a constant Rpm, say 2500 over a long period of time eg on highway. Must vary the revs so city start stop is better. If highway just remember to constantly change the revs (speed)

Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, need to set appointment with P2 centre for installation. Thinking to take that too.

Will need to check the coil mats later and compare between the stock coil mats with GearUp version.
*
Yea man. Always curious why can't they install everything at one go since technically the first batch of cars [1-2K units] are already manufactured?

Hmm, do share the feedback on the coil mats then bro. Haha.

I was thinking to even get Trapo mats but at the moment will assess until I receive the car and check how the stock carpets are.

Yes, wondering the same thing too. Feel like wanna reduce cost then increase profits by selling as extra parts.

Will do. I knew some don't like the coil type and prefer the rubberise mats. But I prefer the coil on top but can trap dirt at bottom part (if have). Trapo I just saw from online and quite well doing their marketing.

hello guys. Got mine 5 days ago.

I opted for the AV variant without the gear up accessories, much too ugly with the body kit. Stock look is better and much more subdued.

I don't have much experience in cars so i cant say much. I upgraded from a viva what i can say it is way better and more comfortable. I'm more bias towards comfort. As for free gift, you will get the normal stuff that they offer but nothing worth noting. I did get a memory card for the DVR (depending on your branch). i haven't been testing it out much as the manual say that there's a break in period for 1000KM; drive under 90km, below 3 rpm. I bought the Trapo mat. The rear pieces are too short. Those area under the front seat are not covered, kedekut fellow. Maybe you can wait and temporarily use any existing mat you have while waiting for them to fix this (need to make noise with them). And without removing the carpet-like mat in the car, the velcro on the Trapo won't stick.

Used Trapo on my previous ride, it’s a bit over-rated and overpriced in my opinion. Also the mat for the bonnet wouldn’t fit properly and would have a small lump laugh.gif

Hmm, I'm still contemplating between Trapo or Dodo.

Just saw both on Shopee but the reviews aren't plenty since car is still quite new anyways.

Gotten mine today, 2 tone red, full spec.
Upgrading from saga flx, comfy and nvh quite good, probably losing to Vios only in this class.
Adaptive cruise feel smooth when car slow down to match d gap.
No problem with smart tag using originally tint.
One thing is d vibration during idle can feel when leg on brake pedal.

Yeah, that's the hallmark of an unrefined 3-cylinder engine.

Congrats on your new ride!

I'm driving a first-gen myvi and went to take a look at x50, x70 and ativa.

so one can certainly feel the differences but i wonder, do i really need x50/70. ativa feels so much nicer already compared to my myvi. havent tested driving any of them though. gonna go take a look on vios, almera and city.

how's the driving experience so far for the owners over here? i've watched tons of youtube and read quite a lot about them though. laugh.gif

Vios quietness and stability are the best I supposed but no cubby space, the stupid middle console and no cruise control. I would say this price Ativa is on par unless u pay 30k more for full spec x50 and wait another 6 months.

yeah, the price is right there with the offered features. How's the fuel consumption so far? i've heard various ones. x50 is certainly on different class and the money paid is justified with the better quality stuff. but ativa is really not that bad. it looks much nicer on flesh than on the screen while it's still all hard plastic, it does feel very ok for me already

I do also driven Myvi 1st gen MT, Ativa & x50

Ativa is pretty good on its own if you do not want to put X50 in to the comparison.

If you do not care much about rear passenger and just want a city car that will be able to do all the job at low cost, Ativa is really good.

But if you can afford 30k more, X50 will be a huge leap, if you don't mind all those safety feature, get an Exec X50 instead, they reason for Ativa is mostly all those active safety feature especially for the AV spec

Edit : Oh yeah and X50 have really really long waiting time (I'm talking about probably next year), if u in a rush for a new car, Ativa is the one to go for.

I've driven the Ativa, first-gen Myvi, third-gen Myvi, X50, X70 and sixth-gen City, so in terms of better driving experience for me it would be X70, X50, City, Ativa, Myvi in that order.

However, in terms of after sales experience, Perodua wins hands down. I regret buying the Honda City only to pay more and still end up with funny rattling sounds and lousy service. I might as well buy local.

I tried giving Proton a chance but they screwed it up too, making me wait 6 months but still no sign of my X50 even though I booked on the very first day. I cancelled it the day Ativa was announced, and now have to wait 2 months for a refund. I can't imagine how long owners would have to wait for parts.

Although I can afford the X70, I realize that unless I have connections inside Proton, it's far more stress-free to stick with Perodua. I'm willing to forego all the refinement and premium quality the X70/X50 has to offer so that I can drive a car that does its job well enough.

So far I'm very satisfied with the Ativa experience, both driving and owning it. I got it a week after launch, enjoyed driving it all over KL, PJ, Subang Jaya, Cyberjaya and Shah Alam, and just went through the 1000km inspection last week. I'm so happy with my Ativa that I'm glad I didn't get the X50.

Of course there are some complaints but for me it's an acceptable trade off. You get what you pay for. Or do you? Pick your poison and hope for the best, I guess...

For those who are wondering how the Gear Up coil mats look like.

For me - not a fan of coil mats cos it's quite a PITA to keep clean and dust may accumulate at the bottom of the strands. sweat.gif

If stock like the Myvi, it should be the cotton type. I'm ok with it.

Kinda OCD so I tend to ensure as little dirt on the shoes/slippers before entering car.
