Was wondering if anybody here received their car yet

I put the booking in Dec (parked it under a myvi), officially changed booking on 10 Feb, received SMS on 23 Feb, loan approved 2 Mac

To date, no allocation yet from Perodua

Dealer - DMM Shah Alam
1st color choice - 2-tone (any color)
2nd color choice - any color except black
*
Yes, I received my car already from an outlet in Subang Jaya, picking it up this morning.

Congratulations, Bro on your Ativa. Please share your journey from booking to delivery. And, also How's your experience with your Ativa? Thanks
*
Thanks bro. It was a short journey, unlike my cancelled X50 haha.

19/2 - booked car
3/3 - submitted loan documents
9/3 - signed loan agreement, allocated chassis number
11/3 - transferred NCD, paid deposit
12/3 - registered at JPJ
13/3 - delivery

My experience has been largely positive. I enjoyed driving it around Subang Jaya roads today, turning people's heads. It feels like driving my Myvi Gen 3, but with an elevated point of view. I had to remind myself not to take corners the way I usually do with the Myvi, because it's so fun to drive. Thankfully the speedometer is huge, because I sometimes fail to realize I'm going too fast (I'm a law abiding citizen).

A friend of mine who drives the Australian-spec HR-V was very impressed with it, considering it's a Perodua. He didn't even mind the tiny rear seats although he's 6 foot tall, saying it's like sitting in his old Kelisa. I think he just misses his old car.

As for complaints, only minor stuff like some slight turbo or CVT lag, but I'm guessing I'm just not used to driving it yet. The rear seats are indeed too small for adults, but it's still fine for my young kids. The larger boot space compared to the Myvi is a much appreciated trade-off.

I would rate it as a pretty good 7.

Thanks.

I believe given any segment of cars with this kind of driving style will likely to break apart too. Remember those Nissan Sentra ploughing GH? They changed their manual gearboxes every 6 months.
*
Exactly. The car feels solidly built to me, but even a tank can fall apart from excessive abuse. I truly don't understand why people expect or even demand supercar performance from a compact SUV...

im curious to know, since you are a fellow myvi g3 owner and budak subang like me. for me my experience with myvi has been quite bad, mainly due to the fact that i cant accept the levels of ride and nvh of the car, especially around my daily commute areas of subang and federal highway. idk la, i just feel like the myvi's suspension, transfers the bumps on the road to you rather than absorbing it, and it always makes a loud "crash" like the whole car gonna fall apart when going through holes.

for the ativa, is it the same thing? since you mentioned is like a myvi but higher only. you know that flyover from SS18 towards glenmarie? that flyover that turns right and always have that big Socar/BMW billboard (last time Azmin Ali pic also there when he was MB), i know that flyover got 3 big bumps that makes my myvi fly everywhere. same thing for ativa?
*
No, the Ativa is better than the Myvi in this regard because of the bigger, thicker tyres and softer suspension. Yes, I know what you mean, I'm guessing the suspension of the Myvi is that stiff because of the lower ground clearance. But still, it shouldn't be as bad as you described it unless your suspension system has been compromised somehow.

Are you using the stock standard tyres or have replaced them? Has it always been like that ever since you got the car or has it been getting worse and more noticeable? My Myvi g1 was like that but that was only after 5 years. I feel that my Myvi g3 ride quality is not bad compared to the previous gen City that I totaled.

im using the stock goodyear assurance tyres, and i think its more of that i am very sensitive to these things since i asked my friends whom drive myvi g3 and the feedback it the same. tbh i find it quite unacceptable considering my mom's 2003 hyundai matrix does better at absorbing bumps in its tiny 14 inch tyres compared to myvi lol
*
Makes sense, actually. Wouldn't be surprised if Perodua intentionally made the suspension stiffer not only because of the lower ground clearance, but also due to feedback from noisy owners of previous gen Myvis who complained incessantly about the car feeling floaty when taking corners at high speeds.

Have you complained about this to Perodua whenever you sent your car in for servicing? What did they say? Can they help adjust your suspension to make it softer? Can't do much about tyres apart from replacing them or playing around with the pressure levels, but maybe they could do something about the springs, shock absorbers, struts, etc.

So far I've driven the Ativa around Subang Jaya, PJ, KLCC, and find it does indeed feel more comfortable to drive over our uneven and bumpy Malaysian roads. It's been only 3 days though, will see how it feels like 3 months down the road.

Which variant is your Ativa, Bro?
*
AV. I've tested the ACC, LKC, and BSM features extensively on the ELITE, NPE, DUKE, and NKVE highways to name a few, including at night. The LKC and BSM definitely saved my shiny new ass a couple of times these few days, but I only use the ACC when there aren't many cars on the road because of slowpoke road hogs in the middle lane and speed demons in the right lane(s) make it a jarring experience.

I'm really curious about the spec of llumar tint... their price ranges from hundreds to thousands...

Anyone with AV can feedback?
*
It wasn't specified anywhere on the product sheet or whatever it's called that they hang on the rearview mirror. I asked the SA but all he knew was that it's the same spec as the Myvi AV. I bet it's a low spec tint, even the micro SD card they gave for the dashcam was just a tiny 16GB card.

Nice. Bro, do you have to activate the ACC in order for the LKC to function?
*
No, I don't. LKC was functioning even when ACC was deactivated. Although I'm not sure if there is any other requirements or limitations like speed, weather, etc. It was still working at night even when I had trouble seeing where the lines on the road were due to poor lighting.

This LKC is really good. Imagine driving at night especially.
*
Oops sorry, I got it wrong. I just went through the manual and can now confirm that LKC does not operate when the ACC is not active. I had LKC confused with LDP. A good reminder for me to RTFM the next time lol.

LDP or LDW? Lane departure warning.

Saw LDP thought the highway. laugh.gif

Anyways, yup. packed with safety features.

It really takes some getting used to having the Blind Spot Assist on a Perodua!!
*
LDP for Lane Departure Prevention, the feature that applies counter force to the steering wheel to prevent departing the lane without using the turn signal. It's different from LDW that just shows the symbol and makes the buzzer sound.

Yeah, it's like Perodua is forcing you to drive safely! laugh.gif

Ahh thanks for clarifying.

Is that automatically switched on? I did see some buttons on the right side where the auto leveller used to be on the Myvi. I think I was more interested in the Auto High Beam thingy. Did you manage to test it out? Hahaha.
*
Yes, it is automatically switched on as part of ASA 3.0, but you can switch it off to drive Fast and Furious style. Bear in mind you can't switch off individual features in ASA though, so you'll be switching everything off.

Yes, I managed to test it out, although unintentionally. I was panicking at first because I noticed the high beam was switched on when I didn't remember switching it on. It was only afterwards that I realized it was because of AHB. It switches on by itself pretty frequently, I just hope I didn't blind anyone by mistake lol.

how does it cost for full tank of fuel ?
i heard some review said the seat on the back and the front dont fully support the thigh,is it true ?
*
It cost me RM60 for a full tank last week.

The front seats are fine, but the rear seats don't fully support the thighs of an average adult-sized male.

so you can say its uncomfortable for long distance journey like more than 4 hours ?
*
If you have to sit in the back for more than 4 hours, especially with 3 adults in the back, yes it would be uncomfortable compared to sitting in a sedan. With 2 adults you still have some wiggle room to adjust your seating posture.

My bad, I just found out that we can individually switch off LDP without switching off everything under ASA. The setting to switch this off can be found under Settings > Vehicle Settings > Front Camera > Steering Assist.

Just get my car and downloaded the car manual from Google play store. Speed reading and try out most of the features in the car. Just found out that there is missing guide for the large LCD panel and DVR camera. Any one has any manual for the camera recorder?  Just don't know how to use the button at the recorder and how to inside sd card correctly
*
I'm too lazy to check in my car since it's raining now, but I got the manual together with the free 16GB SD card glued to it. Are you using your own SD card?

Ahh cool. That's good to hear. Will probably explore more once I get my ride. Hopefully by tomorrow if all goes well. biggrin.gif
Hmm, seems odd that some received the SD card and some doesn't for the DVR? Hopefully it's not a case where the SA/Factory is shortchanging customers, unless it was specifically made clear that the DVR doesn't come with it's own SD card.

Anyways, once I get the car, it's off to install the front & rear dashcams + battery pack I removed from my previous car. Probably the installer may need to remove the original DVR unit installed.

Will provide an update once ready.
*
The SD card may or may not be a free gift or complimentary item, but the manual should definitely have been provided. The SA just told me the SD card was free, but he didn't explain whether it was from the dealer or from Perodua itself. I also didn't see anyone complaining about this in FB groups so I'm assuming the SA missed it or the owner misplaced it. It's just a tiny 16GB anyway so I replaced it with a 128GB afterwards lol.

you may find everything include DVR about Ativa officially with below link icon_rolleyes.gif

I already have the physical manual for the DVR, it was someone else who didn't have it. However, there isn't a manual for the DVR at that link, only the manual for the car, the manual for the HU, and the warranty booklet. This is still helpful though since I can uninstall the app for the manual now, thanks!
