They "changed" your laptop gpu? Is this even doable?

Was lookin to buy lappie n someone suggest illegear. Welp..time to avoid.

to change a laptop gpu meaning need to change the entire mobo which is like the heart of ur laptop
and as the heart of ur laptop, it of coz cost as much as a new laptop so i highly doubt they will change it for u
which mean they did not change any gpu for u, just clean it for u thts all

@Sichiri @kaiserreich Tried everything, they said GPU problem and exchange for me, end up problem came back and i ask for RMA or refund, they said cannot cos pc no problem LOL

Reading thru ur comments, it's probably not software related as most software with DDU clean reinstall would solve most issues, either bios update which I doubt.


But most likely could be ur chipset gpu is dead itself. Illegear brand is not great with their cooling so I won't doubt it happens

but as illegear mentioned every PC is "custom shipped" ie we are the middle man, you buy from us then we place order from Sager / Clevo ... I really doubt they would have GPUs just lying around

anyway TS, what's your laptop and OS specs ? maybe try downloading each driver yourself from the manufactures site instead of using the default bundle.

thats the thing. he buy from illegear. illegear is the one who build the laptop. not others. thats mean they have to replace it by their cost. so now die die dunwan responsible

If opening up the laptop and remove heatsink does not void warranty, you can open up and check.
Usually got some flux residue if they did the GPU replacement.

Google the website and look at TS lappy model.
Have choice of gpu between rtx2060 and rtx2070.
What i know about lappy industry is that manufacturer always integrate mobo and display chipset into same PCB board.
Illegear just order the configuration above as stock unit.
Lappy manufacturer will not go for discrete mobo and gpu as the design of cooling system very complicated.
I safely assume TS got scammed when being told they change a new gpu (TS, please watch in youtube for lappy dismantling, there are alot of video inside. I can say there is no lappy model and brand where the gpu can dismantle out and change with discrete gpu)
