Hi guys, I have been using unifi 800mbps for quite some time and realised that the speed can be very bad quite often recently. As I've read through this thread I realised that changing the router would help as I'm still using the stock router provided by TM.

Was looking at D-LINK DIR-895L AC5300 Ultra, will that be good enough? Or is there a better alternative? Looking for a budget below rm1000.

Thanks guys.

Get something with wifi 6 instead since your plan is already that fast
I suggest giving blacktubi a poke here https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4658096

why no one had post a single phone for standard installation at all ?

I really hope someone would post thier standard installation picture.

Well for every house it’s different as the owner have different requirements and different cable layout

Mine is just swapping from maxis infra to Tm infra so only outdoor cable for me

Personally I think stock router cant handle wifi with 800mbps package.
I am doing my research too to upgrade my 5-6 years old RT-AC55UHP which is still running good and strong for 5 person that can watch / online learning via Meet/Zoom at the same time with no issues.
Currently, I am considering upgrade to AX series router (wifi-6) , with your budget I think you can consider Ai-Mesh routers like RT-AX56U / AX3000 or go even better one.

p/s: I have no ideas about other brands.

I'm on Unifi 800 too and I'm using a Mikrotik hAP AC2 as my router. It's around RM300.

Ok, cooper line is not stable sometimes compared to fibre line.

Hope this make clear of you.

In future you may try find area that use FTTH, fully fibre to home and you will see big different.

i can see that's not a good router. better just buy asus router for better performance. If the 1st floor doesnt improve after you buy new router, use the stock TM for coverage on 1st floor.

Each house is different. You can Google for Unifi installation. There might be blogs that show the process.
