I remember last time someone made a page where we could check the internet connectivity and availability by inputting our jalan, unit number and etc. and it will show in detail the type of line, max speed and all those information

is the page still active? I saw some guys pulling the fibre cables at the back of my house and am wondering if fibre is already activated

have to wait 3-4 months depending on the current situation like Lockdown. You can find any TM agent to register faster

Hi all,

I am on 800mbps Unifi. I just recently upgraded to Asus AX86U.

My existing setup. I have a PC which is located in my work room and connected via wifi (Asus AX card) but it usually only achieves around 400 - 500 mbps. As my AX86u is sitting in the living room, it is not possible to use a ethernet cable all the way to the work room.

Now, I want to fully use 800mbps (if possible) for my PC. Can anyone advise if this approach might work. Please note the BTU/modem is in the storeroom which is much closer to the work room.

Basically, from BTU > switch or old AC86u (mesh node)

Then from this switch, connect directly to PC on Port 1 and connect to AX86u in living room on Port 2.

Sorry for the confusing diagram below...can't seem to align the spaces

Modem (store room)

|LAN 1 >>>>>>>> 4 port Switch or old AC86u reconfigured as mesh node?
|
|
|PORT 1 ---- PC (work room via a ethernet cable)
|PORT 2 ---- AX86U router (living room)
|
|
|LAN 1 PowerLine Adapter
|LAN 2 TV
|LAN 3 CCTV
|LAN 4 HyppTV[/font]

I don't think Modem direct to AC86U will works, as the ac86u mesh mode does not act as a router.

And i don't get what u mean how your AC86U connect to AX86U with Port 2? I thought u don't have the ethernet connection between AC86U and AX86U?

Basically, from modem connect to a switch (or can the AC86U as a mesh node act as hub or totally forget about the AC86u). From switch, Port 1 to PC....pull a direct ethernet cable from store to work room. Port 2 to AX86u router via ethernet as well (this one already done by developer - there is a network port in the living room which I used to plug in the AX86U.

Hope this clears up the confusion

From what i can understand from your post. It will not work that way but instead just connect the AX86U like how you would now but add the AC86U as a mesh node through wireless backhaul. From there you can use ethernet cable to connect AC86U to your PC in your work room. No idea whether it will be better but you can always try first since you already had all the hardware. hmm.gif

Already tested with AC86U wireless backhaul to AX86U....pretty much the same speeds as I get from my PC's wifi card (300~500 mbps).

Or repurpose AC86U as the main router in the store room and turn the AX86U as mesh node with ethernet backhaul....Then, pull a cable from store room to work room. might solve my overall situation.

For those with public IPs, can you guys help me check if the assigned ipv4 address is the same as external ip it detected on website i.e seemyip.com ?

My router giving me this (which is the actual one)
Protocol: PPPoE
Address: 100.104.141.x/32
Gateway: 100.105.255.254
DNS 1: 8.8.8.8
DNS 2: 8.8.4.4
Connected: 1d 7h 29m 27s

vs

any website that detect ip giving me 118.x.x.x ip which is invalid if i try to ping it / localhost.

And no, I'm not connected to VPN or any sort of thing. So either my openWRT doing funny thing, or TM masking the actual public ip address on internet.

I'm on screamyx / unifi screamyx . not fiber ya.

the gateway ip given by TM seem like a mask ip.
meaning you are not using public IP instead private IP

reconnecting still giving me both different ipv4 address and also the so-called masking ip.

so i guess i can safely assume it's an additional protection provided by TM.

reverse lookup seems to show it's by tm as well. thanks yo.

You can't remove @unifi,

since the firmware on the router is dedicated to Unifi

We call these as CGNAT ip or private ip.
Its been a long time that streamyx get assigned with private ip.

Public ip still available to streamyx users upon request.

by default, it can't be remove, need to change the firmware in the router because every router supplied by TM is a modified version of the original.
