QUOTE(verynice309 @ Aug 27 2021, 12:42 PM) I would highly recommend the steelcase leap instead of gesture, dont get the headrest (its rlly bad), suits shorter people as well, extra lumber would be optional imo (i bought it and found that removing it was better, only rm few hundred diff so you can buy and test or try in showroom) i saw some video in youtube. the gesture does not have a movable back support where else the leap has it. in term of aesthetic gesture win.As for the debate on headrests, there's a reason why herman miller themselves dont make headrests for their office chairs (aeron, embody), this is because when your sitting upright, a good ergo chair shouldnt need a headrest because naturally when your upright, your head can be supported comfortably by your body. A headrest is only need when your reclining for long periods, coz your head is off axis from your body. However, if youre working, you (in theory) should not need to recline for long periods anyways. called steelcase they said leap will only come with head rest. they can custom make and import for me but it will be more expensive.they pretty much buy in bulk and sell it here. Price wise its Rm400 difference. unfortunately their showroom is close for now. i would really want to get it while the rod is hot. i am also looking at TRULY Ergonomic Chair - RM3200. |

QUOTE(miyakochan89 @ Aug 23 2021, 07:55 PM) This one I agree. Markus is only comfortable for tall people. I really didn't like it one bit when I had it. I am only 159CM so yeah. QUOTE(veiven @ Aug 24 2021, 10:37 AM) I’m about 164cm, my head isn’t on the headrest. General sentiments here is pretty mixed, likely height issue. Yeah agree, the Ikea Markus headrest sucks. Got try neck pillow to rest ur neck and head, or butt cushion/pillow to raise ur height to reach the headrest? Thought of trying. I guess perhaps the usual merryfair or the other brand ? Unless you don’t mind going for used. Honestly have yet to see someone heavily recommend a 400-800 new. Though, it’s surprising hbada is that bad ? I heard it was decent. Damn. How about jaervfjaellet? It has adjustable headrest. Will it solve the problem, or the headrest can only go up, not down? QUOTE(kluseng @ Aug 26 2021, 03:14 PM) It's better try in the showroom before buying such an expensive chair. That sort of highly curved back will only suit certain people. If your body type isn't suitable you will find it very uncomfortable. In what way? But Gesture and Leap should have similar backQUOTE(miyakochan89 @ Aug 26 2021, 05:05 PM) Yes i agree. Also do more research on it, especially Steelcase is also about RM4K. Gesture more suitable for taller people? Why? Its not like Markus where its so highback. The back of the Gesture isnt very high and big like the Markus.Steelcase Gesture even for people in living in 4 seasons complain that it's a very warm chair. Unless you can constantly maintain your room temperature about 25 degrees and below. Also Steelcase Gesture is more suitable for taller people. Please read them up yeah. The Gesture is more warmer than Markus? Enough said. Lol I was quoting multiple messages, so when u quote me back, it looked random.Yeah I have Markus, but asian height, so the neck cant reach the headrest, same as you. Thats why researching around also, preferably with headrest. The Leap v2 headrest not so good as it pushes the neck forward, if not I already choose it. Thats the only con in my opinion. I need headrest, sometimes want rest my head and lean back while gaming/watch video/thinking, etc. Aeron quite expensive, cant sit cross-legged, mesh might not suit me. Then the Gesture I heard its quite warm, the back support may be too much, and the thighs part there I heard can block off circulation also..I guess depends on type of body. FYI I also wrote to Ebica(Penang) for a quote on their Steelcase chair. they were gracious enough to give me a complete quote.
They have more options, can opt for without head rest and different colours. |

QUOTE(miyakochan89 @ Aug 25 2021, 08:41 PM) I just received my headrest and just fixed it on my chair. It looks great! I love the customisation, adjust up down, in and out. helooo, just curious, do u feel obstructed when you try to cross legs or sit in weird postures?Quality is amazing so far, as good as the chair itself. I will have to customise it more to find a sweet spot though. ![]() ![]() I bought from the seller below, very responsive and patient to all your enquiries. Had to pay deposit and waited for about one week before it arrived. Seller: https://www.carousell.com.my/u/boanfurniture/ |

QUOTE(miyakochan89 @ Aug 22 2021, 12:14 PM) Honestly, buy at your own risks. Another forumer and I were discussing about the risks few days before. At the end of the day, I decided to go big or go home and bought from Authorised Dealer, because it’s confirmed NEW, AUTHENTIC and warranty is authentic. im about to get from trax too, if you dont mind, would you share your purchasing price with me?True enough, I was unfortunate that the unit that I received was faulty within one hour I received it. and Trax sent a chair engineer/mechanic to come and check within a day. And got confirmation that they will swap me a new chair after that. Though I have to wait for the new chair to swap by the coming week as they don’t have manpower to deliver. I am just so glad that I decided to go for the original despite the higher prices. Because imagine if it’s not a AD, I don’t think they will do a swap and probably just keep blaming that you damage it on your own, so they cannot do anything or wait for weeks for them to get their parts or etc. The warranty claim will be so difficult to deal with. AD has a reputation to care for, because if you make enough complaints to Herman Miller, they could lose their rights to be the AD too. Edit: I did however book a Atlas Headrest from the Boan seller as Trax doesn’t bring in I think. I did ask but they said to order ourselves or something like that. Now waiting for the chair swap and headrest to arrive. Haha! |

QUOTE(jacquesyeoh @ Aug 30 2021, 06:18 PM) It's fine for me. i can sit cross leg. BUT I got the size B even though Im more suitable for Size A in the chart. So i have some small spaces around me. U did my own manual measurement against my body, thigh to knee and compare with the Size A&B chair dimensions, depth, width and etc and i feel that Size A would like too small and compact so i went with Size B. No regrets on my part. |

Hi all,
Has anyone heard of GENT office chair from niture.com? I have been eyeing for this chair for a while now mostly of its aesthetics but I'm still doubtful on its lumbar support and the shape of the chair as to whether it fits our back shape or not. I've read a lot of comments here and conclude that merryfair anggun is the closest to this office chair. Would love to have some of you who have experience on office chair to give a brief judgement on mere observation. I'm 175cm +- , so if there are other chairs around 500-800 range please don't hesitate to recommend me. https://pictr.com/images/2021/08/31/BiDreI.md.jpg |

Hi guys,
Between Merryfair Wau, Steelcase Series 2 and Sihoo V1, which would you think might have the best comfort and durability. I wouldnt say the price is the same but if one is better than the other, I dont mind to topup a bit. Right now I am sort of inclined towards the Series 2 for the design (looks like it is possible for me to sit cross legged) and well..the brand rep/warranty (even if this is their entry level model). The Wau, looks kinda nice, might go for the foam seat + mesh. But not sure about the chassis itself as Ive read some complaints on the build quality for the Uplift Pursuit(not sure if it is a rebrand of Wau). Sihoo, I dont have much info on this, although this does looks to be the one with most features and have the option to add legrest. This post has been edited by kaz93: Aug 31 2021, 06:25 AM |
