whoa nice find! there  rolleyes.gif

I was thinking to get this, but yours cheaper half the price RM150 only.. nice.
ssd hub usb-c

I think both same same ports, just the Harbigis have SD slots and support 10gbps nvme.
*
This is good device too with the extra SD card and 10GBPS NVME support. For me the 520MBPS is fast enough for my usage. Took around 2 minutes for a 50GB file.

Depends on the user's needs. If just need a hub with SSD support together with USB and HDMI support, the Ugreen should cover that whereas if need SD card support and faster file transfer then good to go with Hagibis.

Would like to ask anyone here already got their macbook which shipped on 30/12 onwards? Mine still stuck at UPS shah alam. From singapore to china to vietnam to malaysia only took 1 day. The 5 days stagnant there,
Tracking shows pending reschedule. What a terrible UPS service. Anyone can share your experince with Ups??

I think due to long weekend most parcels would have been stuck for a few days.

My brother ordered a Lenovo laptop and UPS also held his parcel for few days, but finally delivering today haha

Finally took the plunge and ordered the Macbook Air M1 with 16Gb memory and 512Gb from Switch just now. Now the long wait for it to arrive, but not really in a big hurry.

Thanks guys, I think I’ll get that 3slot+SD card hub then.
How about external SSD, any advise?
I’m in a middle of choosing Samsung T7 touch(found it on taobao with less than RM600 include shipping) or Sandisk Extreme V2(shopee selling RM500 include shipping). Anyone here bought external ssd from taobao?

Personally I prefer to buy computer parts locally. Price difference isn't worth the potential warranty hassles later IMO

I didnt buy extra storage as I've already gotten my very old ext. HDD for data transfers, if needed.

Thanks for your advice polarzbearz

I am using this hub with external M.2 SSD slot built in. Just make sure that it is a SATA M.2 SSD. I paired it with a 1TB WD Blue SATA M.2 SSD.

https://s.lazada.com.my/s.c7DD4

Slightly bigger than a normal hub but it is just as light and only need to carry and use one device. Also lesser ports but the essentials one for me are all there.

Aww, didnt know such things exists. biggrin.gif Thank you so much, will kiv on this!
Any idea is this workable as an extended storage for ps5 too? Because my plan is to get just 1 ssd as a storage for my MBA and an alternative storage for my ps5. notworthy.gif

How are these operating temperature compared to those of dedicated hubs...? Like the Satechi multi-port ones for example, minus the M.2 storage, reviews has it that the hubs run hot to the touch. Add M.2 storage in later die faster... sweat.gif

It does get quite warm but not hot to the touch.. Normally I will connect it with the hdmi port for about few hours at a time.

Finally got my MBA this evening after 23 days of waiting.. this morning it reached Subang Airport then subsequently on 2Pm i received Apple iMessage informing it will be delivered today. Was expecting the delivery will fall on tomorrow or Thursday.

Havent got the chance to toy with it coz jus unbox it after dinner and its waiting to be started up with Time Machine restoration. Doing latest backup from older brother now into Time Capsule. Slow.

P/S:

Wanna check with you guys, what version MacOS did your MBA shipped with? Mine is still under 11.0.1 when i received it. Very rare Apple did not shipped their product with latest OS, and this 11.1 have been around for quite some time.

Yes, the Satechi ones do run hot, even my USB-C dongle from Satechi runs super hot at times.

Anyone in here are using Macbook Pro 15 / 16 previously? Looking online on how impressive is the new chip, 13" MBA might be a viable choice for me. I usually use FCPX (1080p), Adobe AI/PS.

You can go for MBP 13" lowest spec. Friend is a software engineer who uses a lot of tools also is not bothered to get beyond 16GB unless you are into video editing. The fan will be good for you to stop the chip from throttling too soon.

Any additional benefits ordering from Switch instead of Apple Online?

Guys, for macbook warranty period, will it be started after we boot the device or it based on the invoice date?
Because i havent recieved my parcel. Ups has suspended delivery due to flood and heavy rain. Expect it to be very long delay.
