QUOTE(retep @ Sep 13 2007, 07:04 PM) I'm not really a good drafter, but in draft the early picks shouldn't really commit you to a color and you should be able to jump ship in case you get cut off. So when you first pick Dread, you must be prepare to abandon black, in case your right is playing the color. there is 2 kinds of drafting. proactive and reactive. depending on the type of boosters used, you can setup the color. some set/boosters have higher playability colors selection than others. you can commit early, you can fight early. otherwise reactive drafting means let other ppl feed you. anyhow, read the situation and picks. the more you draft the more you learn. print runs in packs also helps. the more you draft a set, the more you know it's run. you see a common missing, and most likely you know what is taken coz you see the other cards.

Or you can draft like me.... take all the bombs of all colors around the world. Then decide which color to play during deck construction...XD

^ Rare drafter
Can't wait for the Lowryn to come out. Since the set is large, it's gonna test your actual drafting skill in evaluating cards, rather than memorizing the pick orders -- I like.
But anyway in TSP, the ones which are regarded as high/good picks: - Removals - 4cc for 4/4, or even 5/5 (Plague Sliver) - Reasonobly costed creatures with evasion with body at least 3/x - Psuedo removal/combat tricks/tempo gainer + a body (Shaper Parasite, Draining Whelk) - Counterspells - Card advantage (Foresee, Mindless Automation, Looter il Kor)

Seal of Fire rotate out as Goyf food? No problem. Here's a handy replacement. Tarfire R Tribal Instant - Goblin Tarfire deals 2 damage to target creature or player. Upgraded Shock? Yes, please. My version Tarfire R Tribal Instant - Goblin Tarfire 2 damage to target creature or player. If target creature gets PAWNED, Bad Muther Fcuker gets +3/+3. pick orders are a good incation for players who wants to learn how to draft, print runs are for the players who know what they are doing when it comes to drafts. thus perhaps this is the difference between why some players can consistently top8 or do well in limited and some stil cant excel in it after tonnes of articles from pro write ups. and could you elaborate on your high/good picks for counterspells? very often i find putting counterspells in the deck to be a waste as either i draw it too late and it couldnt stop the threat which i feared, or i draw it early and stop a threat which isnt too threatening. never a correct time to have a counterspell in my experience in limited. Extended Players and Legacy Goblin Players are quite happy with this new tribal spell. This makes Goblin Ringleader ever more broken. Get your set today

If I have his version of T2 Storm, maybe I can do better in Nats. Lolz. i also makes a lot of mistakes. mistakes that new player can point out. the fact i got such a lousy draft2 deck at nats points that i am not the best. Could anyone tell me just why goyf is such a hit? I mean the prices for it do not justify its means. How can a creature cost more than Damnation? That's just insane.

That's just insane. simply supply and demand. goyf is from 3 set and the set is smaller compared to TS. less drafted. damnation a bit more drafted. Goyf can kill you, damnation cannot. Damnation not that hot in Extended. Goyf now playable in Extended and Legacy.

Actually I only think its the hype surrounding it. Sure I admit yes its good. I played vs Threshold decks (legacy) with goyf and also vs BDW Splash Goyf and Aggro Loam (goyf)
But the price for a goyf is now MORE EXPENSIVE THAN FOW , Original Revise Duals, Orim's chant and that is just not right.
I guess its like Sea Drake lol.
