Mine is 3 years 3 months, now with the same situation. No interest to have it change. I put on yellow normal mode, then less noise. I think drove around 3 years in blue eco mode might have contributed to this faster.
*
Mine is also 3 years plus and this dual mass flywheel problem getting louder especially on 6th gear and going uphill. Might also hear it at 5th and 7th gear at certain speed. Booked to get it replaced and have to leave the car for few days. Estimate damage is 2K plus. Check the parts selling in shopee is 2.5K. Very unfortunate cry.gif that this issue came up after 3 years where the warranty expired. I didn't even manage to drive for more than 6 months during MCO time.

Tq for this feedback. Being an engineer, I was very concerned about this problem. The flywheel is used as a balance weight for the apsence of the 4th cylinder in a 3cylinder ICE. Without this counter weight the engine will viabrate quite a bit. No one really understood this issue and as such did not get a proper feadback. I suppose the car is still relatively new.

Sadly there is no choice but to change that flywheel. However this will always happen every 3 - 4 years, depending on usage. I guess owners have to consider this as major service item.

To check if that things are covered under unlimited mileage 5 years warranty or *3 years 60k km, afraid on the later. Cz if u look at t&c, only engine, gb part are under unlimited mileage warranty but again there are *t&c on it

I guess everyone needs to take a indepth look at their T & C. as to where they stand on the warranty claim. This is an integral part of ICE.

Yes the T&C, to read more. Iirc they already spell out certain part name are under exclusion part, mean it covered under 3 years 60k km. If it me, go outside workshop at reasonable price then for repair.

How to know whether this is a flywheel issue

The sound is like putting coin in the empty can and shake it

Ah I have the same tack tack tack sound too while driving lowspeed through my car park last night too.

Do I need to visit the service centre to get this checked?

if under warranty you should.
so you can mark the mileage in their system.
for example: now 47000KM you asked for warranty.
so you can continue drive you car later parts arrive then you change.

i forgot i change the flywheel on 30 or 40k. me here proton proactively requested the part change.
because i play music on driving, so i cant heard that.... whistling.gif

after that i need worry clutch actuator

Below is a link I found have similar sound to mine. Mine as mentioned is very obvious especially at gear 6 going uphill and can hear also at gear 5 and gear 7.

Flywheel problem sound

sweat.gif Luckily after checking the part ID, mine is still under warranty. Maybe mine is the first batch have 5 yrs warranty cover. Got mine replaced FOC biggrin.gif .

The invoice showed that dual mass flywheel price is slightly over 1.6K and labour charge is about 0.5K which total up to over 2.1K.

Does anyone else experience shuddering or shaking in their x50 while reversing up a slope? My X50 is the TGDI version, at home there's a slope to reverse park, whenever reversing on the slope, just lightly tapping the throttle the car shakes like it's struggling to reverse. If I tap it too much, then it's too fast, kinda scary. The slope is like....30-35 degree slanting?

Edit: This doesn't happen with my mom's city or another Bezza we have at home.
*
My experience is stopping at a T junction on a steep slope waiting for chance to turn right.
The X50 did not move when I pressed the accelerator.
Feels like the gear not engaged and moving backwards even though I am in D.

Scary!!!

Clutch slipping?

Normal auto GB no issue.
This DCT GB got this kind of issue. Haiz.
