my gf (soon to be fiance) want to have a SUV b-seg, and keep say HRV better than x50 due to honda, japanese car, more reliable bla bla bla. looking at proton like low level like that...i'm so keen to have x50 but gf (w/o car knowledge) keep have those "listen parents/fren say" mentality, making the purchase of x50 is very impossible...

While im getting a D seg sedan in future

worst come to worst if she has bought HRV, I wouldn't be happy and I wouldn't drive/sit that car tbh

If she is a simple point A to B driver, then Honda might be the better choice. For normal service, Honda is good, bar the warranty claim issue. If she can ignore minor squicky2 sound, go Honda.

Proton older models are mechanically reliable but rattle quite sooner than other brands. Service quality is bad, even in COSE have to wait half a day to change oil even if you are 1st in queue. If older model, can go to authorised service center like Lim Tayar to do minor service quickly. If geely model, cannot run away from 3S and 4S.

if is 103-105k territory, that one is HR-V and city RS territory already. ppl will think, if sama spec, lagi bagus buy city la. city EV engine, then honda sensing lagi. lagi honda badge. seriously if the price above 100k i better buy city RS lol.

Turbo or hybrid, choose your poison. Maybe they will limit below 100k top spec x50 during 0 sst. Next year above 100k.

Drove past one test unit today. The drl is very glaring, almost bluish colour...not like most cars' drl color which is white.

I think you should refer to picture below for better comparison on maintenance cost.

Edited: I also don't think Honda engine oil will only cost MYR 84 for 4L, typical Syntactic oil will easily cost over RM1XX, especially honda.
Of course the comparison here also not right do with Honda from 2015.
*
True, the cost in the schedule by Honda is the bare minimum oil spec, which is the semisyn. I had to top up to go full synthetic. But still, the full synthetic by Honda is cheaper than of the shelf price for P or S branded oil in outside workshop.

Mandatory to take their skytint and carpet at cost rm2.4k++.
Tint was junk, feel hot straight away. Most owner will buang tint and install other brand, straight away lost that rm2k + items.

Wut? Same move like mazda (konika minolta brand). The tint is like inner wrapping paper for nasi lemak with ultra low IRR, plus bubbles trapped. If you do double tinted, can see the bubbles.
