I have just come back from Proton COE and managed to speak to 3 experts from the tech dept.
from my understanding throughout the conversation:

1. the x50 dipstick measures the top 1 litre of engine oil. if the dipstick does not show any oil level, it does not mean there isn't any oil in the engine.
2. if engine oil is really insufficient, the red oil sign will be lighted up in the instrument cluster. in this case, then should send the car for further check.
3. in general, turbo engine would consume engine oil and this is normal as long as not too extreme.
*
Actually these all general knowledge about car.
But some ''expert'' in fb said that dipstick = all EO in engine.

I pun malas to teguh. Otherwise kene label as proton supporter

Xmaulah. Me at x50 kene label proton fanboy, kat ativa group pun kene proton fanboy lol

Once pernah discuss pasal 3 cylinder shaking problem, from no where got people appear: 'perodua ativa no need balance shaft because its more superior', 'no need that thing'

Me loled. That all thing to counter engine vibrate not th more the better? Suddenly missing one thing became a feature like phone missing 3.5mm.

Normal car mostly 1L for buffer / as reservoir
But in fb got people claim he/she checked x50 dipstick is clean.
And manage refill 3L oil....

Technically x50 fill in 5L yet full so i agak 5.5L.
If he/she refill 3L....that x50 before refill runing with 2+L engine oil and doesnt even notice it rough noice? Or geely engine well build sampai low EO pun ok je....

I'm wondering why Proton use 5L of EO only but Geely Coolray in Philippines using 5.6L. Yet Proton's SC not using standard quality of EO. Some use 0w-20 and some use 5w-30.

Maintenance comparison Proton and Geely Coolray

Well just to add that our Malaysian Volvo XC40 1.5TGDi engine is also using the approximate same vol. and 0W-20 as in the Philippines-Coolray. However I am not too overly concern about the new Petronas 5W-30 oil which is a GF-6A compliant when I am struggling to find any EO in the shell.com.my which have the same new compliant rating. Will test out the new oil soon but I will likely switch back to the 0W-20 EO of my choice after the warranty is over.

What concerns me is most is that some has posted above that the new 5W-30 EO dipstick measurement only have 3 bar instead of the 5 bar that I measured it after my fresh EO change which uses the OW-20. I do measure the EO (@30 min after drive) right after service, after 5k and at 10k before service and so far I have not encountered reduction as such. So the possible reason is that there may be leaks or the new Petronas EO did not fill up to the 5L as bottled. As highlighted in the dipstick 1 bar is the minimum EO required but then the lower EO meaning there could be more deposit built up in the EO in lower vol. and this may not clean the engine as well as possible.

These is no such conspiracy.
I make an example on last page about people mention oilstick is empty and refill 3L EO. So i guess engine + reserve total about 5.5L

Of course one bottle 0w30 5L sharp cant full 5.5L
But 0w20 4L need to manual topup, so it can extra topup.

Does anyone here have X50 Executive variant?

Is the automatic door light sensor for the rear interior lights working for you? For me, the sensor only seems to work for the front lights.

Much appreciated if you can confirm the above.

Thanks!

Yes, cabin lights. Is this how it is supposed to function? Cause in the manual appears that the rear light should work too.

Is this a design flaw or what? How come the manual seems to indicate otherwise then?

It depends. In my case was rm500. Then the remainder of the DP when the car has arrived at the dealership
