Agreed. Not to mention there is supposed price hike for 2021. Thats why nobody knows what will be the price for 2021. Alot of uncertainty in next year for the automotive industry.

can we use 3rd party camera with better resolution for x 50?
*
One possibility is to get the camera modules from Binyue or Coolray.
Another feature I noticed not in x50 is there's no 3D 360 view like in Coolray.

Would be a good try to raise this issue, mirror is such a basic thing.
If not, raise it via car reviewers.

Someone has posted this on Proton's FB, let's see their reply.
It is odd they would get this wrong on the X50, when it does not seem to be a problem on the X70.

I dont recommend anyone to try replacing the camera as some of ADAS features make use of them. If the cameras are not placed back at the precise angle, it'll affect the system accuracy. Unless outside vendors know how to recalibrate the system, it's better to just leave it as it is.
And for sure it'll void the warranty for the whole ADAS system at least.

If you can wait better wait, mayb they will facelift 2 years later with all those functions you said if looking at X70 trend, unless the Perodua SUV takes a big hit till they have to be competitive again because X50 considered not much different to X70 in term of purchasing power, many do not have the luxury, this is not an affordable car.

Looks like the second issue is in regards of the noise isolation which I also did noticed when driving on the highway. Probably more noticeable if you turned down the car volume. Seems like the rubber isn't of a very good quality. I wonder how much would it cost to change it though & if so then I am assuming they are using the same material on the sunroof which would raise a concern if there will be any issue with rain water leakage in the future.

I called my SA, he also mentioned he's not sure on the pricing next year.
But a lot of his customers (including me) also macam won't get the car this year cause production is pretty limited.

If it's not getting extended then haih, oh well, get 2021 car instead.
*
I was told if its "proceeding" then if got in 2021 it'll be a topup

I'm getting quite restless now.
I should get my car today, after signing hire purchase agreement last week, per my SA instructions. When I confirmed back with my SA yesterday, he said my allocated unit has been sold by the dealer.

Apparently, the dealer cannot resist a buyer who came in, and pay full price in cash for that car. So, my SA cannot do anything he said, due to the dealer decision to cut queue and approved that sale.

My dealer also. Said must take the accessories package as my car is coming soon. If not, they will allocate to another buyer.

Like that also can? So, do you proceed with adding the additional accessories package?

Seems like a tactics by dealers to gain more revenue by forcing customer to buy that package, knowing that there are customers who cannot wait anymore for their cars.

your SA not powderful enough. tbh if he/she isn't able to get you the car within the SST exemption period you should consider changing SA or cars even. Plenty of new launches lately.

also, I don't know why people still put up with the blatant money grab by SAs who force you guys to take the accessory package. Cant you all report this to Proton HQ or something? I'm pretty sure it's giving them a bad name.

Ya, I paid for the accessories. Can't do anything about it. The car sells so well and lots of people willing to pay extra to get the car.

My SA also like that. Explained that if faster want the car, add the package. I said cannot la, no use for me. Then said for the next car allocation at the dealer, my name is on the top list. Should get the car by the end of this month.

If by the end of this month also cannot get car, maybe consider to cancel buying the car altogether...

If you're not in a rush, can consider 2021 car also.
Depreciation lets say 10% aka RM10K.
Price without SST exemption maybe roughly 5-6K difference?

Will stand to 'save' RM4-5K when you let go of the car (eventually).

This is my plan if the SA really cannot guarantee this year, I'll just ask him to get it by CNY or something.

Sounds like we bought at the same dealer? Hahaha
But i also looked at city 2020 forum. Some suggested hyundai ioniq because they giving rebate (same price with x50) but older car with similar features + hybrid.

That 's the main issue that has been bothering me. If can save, save a bit la. 5-6k is quite substantial amount for some people in order to topup after the SST exemption finished...

You know what would be REALLY funny?
If the price didn't increase after SST exemption, instead, Proton will maintain the same price as 2020.

Proton X50 2020 owners: ranting.gif
Proton X50 2021 owners: thumbup.gif

Can totally see it coming as a marketing ploy.

That would be me, haha. In the end, I really ended up cancelling my X50 and get a Hyundai Ioniq instead. Mine is different case cause I sold off my old car and I don't wanna stuck with a few months paying for rental car 😂😂
