Quick question, for those who already made your booking. What colour did you guys choose? And you guys ok with booking the orange, blue or red variant without actually looking it in person first?

My SA contact me and told she only got orange flagship available. Ahh, so keen on either blue or silver. Orange looks good but sked only in photo. Like the red. Some of the reviewer said the red are not very pleasant to the eyes especially under bright sun.
*
Where's your dealer located? Cause I wanted to see the orange with my own eyes before making decision. Still deciding between orange, blue and white

Its Proton Shah Alam, that big Proton building next to highway. Already asked her to give me actual photo once the car landed. Will share it here once I got it.

Cool. Thanks ya!

Based on the rim looks like standard version.  hmm.gif
Correct me if I'm wrong

Even better. Everyone knows how the flagship looks like already. I'm really keen to see how the non-flagship variant actually looks like, especially the interior

All the hype to get more sales!

Those who booked flagship are going to be disapointed the vehicle is much slower than claimed. When it struggles to beat another SUV which has 40hp less, performance figures are questionable. I believe FC too will not be as claimed!

This could be due to dual clutch transmission design not up to par with western designs. Understand transmission is  inhouse Geely design.
*
Most of the cars being sold have higher FC than claimed. Those advertised FC are always in optimum driving condition under a steady speed. Even Volkswagen have its own share of controversy. As for the horse power, as much as Proton uses it as one of their selling point, I don't think anyone in their right mind is going to buy X50 for their speed.

X50 will be the cheapest B-segment SUV right?
*
Depends on which variant you're getting, both Honda BRV & CRVcan be cheaper than X50

BRV is not a suv and i think you meant HRV, the base spec is 104000.
*
Yup. I meant HRV😂 thanks for the correction

Finally went to test drive the X50. Chose it over Honda City (I booked both) even though I'll say City is more comfortable to ride and drive. X50 wins on pure aesthetic and I'm also bored driving Sedan after so many years. But unless you're getting Flagship, I don't think Honda City loses out on X50. FC,ride comfort and reliability still favours City.

Just wanna ask u guys quick opinion. is the price RM103,300 worth it for flagship variants?
*
Not for me, which is why I'm getting the Premium. I think unless you really need the Adas feature (which I don't), get the Premium instead. Extra 10K for a sunroof and dual tone exterior is not worth it.

https://thenewswheel.com/4-mistakes-that-wi...h-transmission/

Just sharing for anyone's who buying the X50 and is new to the DCT gear. Basically the gist is:

1. Don't shift to N when you stop at traffic light.
2. Don't take your foot off the brake when youre waiting at the traffic light..

Doing so might injure your clutch in the long run.

Oh, from ThatIndianTalksCar he said premium is the most booked x50. Quite shocking to me. Add abit more got all bells and whistles dy. I thought if wanna save money a bit premium is the best choice.
*
I booked Premium as well. Mostly for the dual tone interior and better looking interior. Didn't book Flagship because the additional stuff is useless for me, except for the dual tone exterior. But I don't wanna pay extra 10k just for that

Feels okay to me. I used to have abit of the car in the side mirror for parking. Use the side camera la.  biggrin.gif
*
I usually adjust it in a way I won't see my car at all to reduce the blind spot. This feels pretty bad but of course your view will differ depending on how you sit and your height.

Sounds like we bought at the same dealer? Hahaha
But i also looked at city 2020 forum. Some suggested hyundai ioniq because they giving rebate (same price with x50) but older car with similar features + hybrid.
Yeah, get later batch also no problem, but of course if can save why not. Now also can't really drive anywhere sad.gif
*
That would be me, haha. In the end, I really ended up cancelling my X50 and get a Hyundai Ioniq instead. Mine is different case cause I sold off my old car and I don't wanna stuck with a few months paying for rental car 😂😂

Omg i thought only me considering ioniq. Atm just let my SA do their job. Dowan push so hard.

No point i booked a day before official booking open, loan approved 2 weeks before official price reveal, end up SA still ask wait few months.
If can't get by this year, I'll cancel everything. Wait a bit next year and see what offering from other brand and hows the x50 1st batch performing. Then decide again.
*
Yeah, for you sticking with X50 is probably the best choice, unless you're urgently looking for a car or you really love hybrid. Plus, you booked on 17th so I'll say you have a pretty good chance of getting your car by year end.
For me, owning a hybrid car at least once has always been something I wanna do. Plus, I booked on early October, so my chance of getting the car by year end is almost non-existent.

How much is the Ioniq? New or old stock?
*
Old Stock, pre-registered unit. Meaning technically, Sime Darby is the first owner, and I'm buying it from them. 100km mileage. Price is 93K for the high spec (the pre-CMO original price for brand new unit is 116k but you can buy one for 103k now)

What year's stock? I test drove  a showroom unit last year, the dealer wanted to let go at rm70k+, I think it was a 2017 stock.
*
Last year. 2017 stock is a different version. Diff HU and diff battery unit I think. 70k for HEV or HEV+? If HEV+ that's a really good deal

Many maker is stepping up their game, they may not have everything X50 offered, but mayb most of the essential one like Collision Warning,
Blindspot warning sort of stuff will be made available.

Meanwhile X50 is not flawless on its own as a few pointed out that Android Auto/Apple Car play is not available, people who used Android Auto/Carplay may find it hard to be pleased with car that do not comes with it. Plus X50 is also hiding a few tricks up their sleeves saving some other premium feature like ambient lightning, paddleshifter, which available from mainland to be released for next facelift.

Quite Positive they will not increase the price, it is a sensitive range to played with, believe they understand there is a few rivals cooking something to take a piece from X50.
*
Someone did a calculation before this though. Let's say the SST is 2000 (probably will be more) and there's 10,000 undelivered booked car by the end of the year. That means Proton needs to fork out 20million just to absorb the SST. Will they do so? I highly doubt it.
