I installed CR1 205 60 R16 on my Ford Focus last month. Basically I just want a comfort and quiet tyre, and cheap. And this Toyo CR1 does not disappoint. If you want comfortable and quiet, this CR1 is the one to get. It's surely a softer rubber as you can feel it when you are driving as if the vehicle is on a cushion. Low noise as well. It is fine during cornering and braking too unless you drive like an F1 driver then that's a different story. For everyday usage it's good and most importantly, it's the cheapest compared to other common good alternatives. There's a squeaking sound from the tyre when the steering wheel is turned left and right on concrete car park ramp at low speed. Apart from that, there isn't any peculiar or abnormal behavior of the tyre that I notice of.

This is the price I got from the tyre dealer, cheapest quote when compared to the other 3 tyre shops I asked around.

205-60-16
Michelin Primacy4 2023 RM395
Michelin XM2+ 2022 RM385 left 2
Continental UC7 2023 RM365
Toyo CR1 2023 RM295

Increased slightly more than recommended already and the squeaking or screeching noise is still there. Maybe the rubber is the sticky or soft type.

Opposite from what you believe, it is the opposite = it has hard rubber.

All high treadwear, eco low rolling resistance, high mileage use rather stiff rubber. The comfy cushion is coming from thin sidewall + soft sidewall reinforcement.

Squeak on concrete carpark at low speed is due to same reason, the side wall is soft such that it deform more and the side wall is rubbing the concrete.

So ktek is right that if you increase tire pressure, it will alleviate this slightly.

For soft rubber, check those treadwear 280, 240, 200 tyres.

It is not a sticky/soft tyre, unless you get this. Lol

Gravel stick to tread surface

Left a groove after remove the gravel. It will flatten a bit after driving for a while, when tyre is warmer

Already increased additional 10 kPA above recommended pressure and the sound is still there. Can't be increasing it too much.

Never seen the cheese string yet.

Worst I've seen was RE-71RS on an Evo 9 MR. Lots of 1cm+ gravel stone that I get trypophobia. I don't want to follow behind that car.

For myself, I only seen upper 40C, just shy of 50C on my tires so far.

Just changed to CR1 yesterday and I am quite satisfied with it. For the price, you'll be getting a quiet, soft and comfortable ride.

So the issue with wobbling / floating only happen if speeding la?

Whats ur current milage with the tyre? Bunga still ok?
Threadwear rating same as saga default atlas tyre. 360. If so, maybe can push till 60k km like atlas.
