no need embossing. imprint is enough.

there are other consideration too, e.g. cost and it's primary usage for ecommerce.
*
yeah the printing is not even of the highest quality. The numbers can be scratched off easily. lol.
Well I supposed they are trying to cut cost since they cut the cashback amount for their other cards. boo.

I activate thru Chrome browser from my laptop. Immediately activate. Is your phone number correct? Should be immediately activate.
*
Yes, i received confirmation sms saying they will send another sms once card is activated. But until now no card activated sms.

Try to restart your phone, telco might have issue. If it doesn't solve it, then call CS to get it activated.
*
Already did, OTP no issues.

Update: Activated the card thru M2U.

It doesn't matter how cheap look the card is, the available balance inside that matters.... icon_idea.gif icon_idea.gif icon_idea.gif icon_idea.gif icon_idea.gif

There's no available balance. This is not a debit card.
If there's balance in your credit card then you are in trouble. Like outstanding balance. lol.

True, can’t believe they so cheapskate on this new card design. Even Apple’s credit card is made of metal.

Perhaps OPR cut too many times that it impacted their provision of costs for card production xD

Or .. they rolled out this card on a very last minute notice so no choice have to go with whatever that works

just receive my card today

btw, on the letter mentioned that effective 1 jul only payment with 6digit pin is accepted for all purchases. even the instruction to make purchase thru POS also mentioned that after tapping the card need to key in PIN.

anyone can confirm on this, coz my HSBC and citi card no need to key in pin if purchase below certain threshold

read properly.

starting 1 July 2017 .... all cards are now using 6-digit pin-and-pay method. nothing different than other banks.

making payment at point of sales ---- insert or tap at payment terminal ... then key in 6-digit pin when prompted

just talked to maybank CS:

1) there are 3 ways to apply the card: m2u online, shopee, and walk-in card centre.

2) for SST redemption from other cards' TreatsPoints --- YES, however the card must have some TPs before it can be combined with other card's TPs. if brand new card without any TPs inside, the system cannot perform TP redemption. ---- meaning, we need to spend slightly >RM1k per statement cycle so that the excess is converted to TPs first, then only can combine with other card's TPs for SST redemption (i guess any type of TP redemtion).

hi all, tempted to apply, anyone knows whether can use existing mbb cc treat points to redeem for SST?
*
my last talk with them, possible but not immediately doable until the new shopee card already earning TPs.

if not mistaken, earlier SST FAQ, it was stated redeem within 3 months after posting.

later, the document was revised. no redemption period. however, you can redeem for SST once per year only.
