just take your time and try them out progressively, along with other basics like switch, plate, case, mods, etc.

this will help you shape better ideas on what's going on when you combine them together as a unit. you also learn how to choose the right parts, and control them to achieve desired outcomes.

this is tape mod explained. (you might wanna crawl comments for others' opinions too)

so, in short, the board is in your hands. just experiment it yourself.

edit: it's like what the video said, tape mod has mixed results, depending on how a boad is designed and built.

i have done the tape mod and the felt or form mod on my bottom mounted board.
i use the o ring mod on the screw also .. and yes can hear the keyboard tockier a bit ... but i am mixing 4 switches together though sweat.gif

lazy to do the holie mod hahaha

alphabet & numeric are my frenkenswitches, mixed with panda for the rest ...

as of now satisfied with the results wub.gif

kbd67lite r3, with kbdfans' 0.5mm eva foam, and case silicon pads.

in all honesty, it's a stiffer gasket mount kit. i guess it's the sound that most people like, not its gasket mount implementation.

edit: all in all, it's still a decent hot-swap kit, for the price, with so many goodies bundled.

i think it will not be taxed since it's below 500myr.

it's always better to add an additional 20% to the total costs when you purchase stuff, just in case.

after a few tests of different configurations, i prefer kbd67lite with everything in. imo the typing feel is more solid with case silicon, relatively speaking, compared to configurations without it.

the next step is to tune all the switches. my formula to make switches to have minimal vibration during typing is: lube them, use soft switch films, and switch pads/foams. this time i will keep the stock spring (63.5g linear rated)

more domikey sets, after astronauts: vintage, miami night, cyberpunk.

currently, domikey sets are hot stuff at taobao, and their aio sets are sold out very quickly.

Hi,

I am thinking to get a wireless mech keyboard for my Ipad/macbook air/ windows laptop. The most important feature i need is ability to work around multiple devices

Currently using a 10 years old ducky-9008 brown switch. I am not so particular about keyboard.

Thinking to splurge 200-300 maybe more if needed
Features that I require
Layout 65-75%, arrow key is mandatory, not sure if i can live without function key row
USB-C, seamless profile switching
Hotswap switches if possible, I am thinking to try BLUE switches but not sure if I would hate them.

KB in mind
RK68
Dont mind to buy a starter set and do everything myself if the cost is not too high

I'm using a RKG68 now, no regrets. Bluetooth hasn't given me any issues (switching between my laptop and android smartphone). Have not tried the macos keys as no mac devices, but should work. Feel free to ask specific questions about that keyboard if you want.

Lack of function key is not bothering you?
Did you use everything stock or there are things which have been replaced

Obviously depends on your usage. For me no, as the only function keys I use fairly regularly are F5 (just to start presentation). If you game then should just remap what you need.

The more annoying thing in terms of keys is Home and End, as I do a lot of typing and that's like some of the simplest ways to get to various ends of the line when not using my normal text editor.

Arrow keys available but... I'm trying to see if can live without those (do some remapping in my OS). Unfortunately RK software only allows remapping of individual keys not layers or anything. So you can change the layout to Dvorak if you want, but you can't map Caps+wasd for arrow keys for example. Long term I do plan to go 60% to save more space. This 65% is very space saving already though, already narrower than my laptop.

Normally i use f2 a lot in excel, i dont game nowadays.
But in mac function keys are rarely used as well
F12 for save as in office suits
Maybe just buy and see if i can get used to it.

Its not too pricey

Looks like I need to mod Glorious GOAT stabs. Sometime the space bar will be stuck due to subpar factory lubed. Maybe will try GOAT housing with Everglide stems.

yeah most stock stabs are underperformed. you should always tune them when they are easy to access.

as for swapping the sliders to everglide's, it's better to try tuning the original ones first imo. (unless they are really beyond rescues)

there are plenty of them, with different configurations, and also price tags. it's better to state what you actually want first.

don't worry about it. most mods for stabilizers are reversible, so it's ok to screw things up. if something go wrong, just clean them up, then redo.

as for those that are irreversible, like clipping mod for sliders, they are simple so it's not that easy to fail. in your case, you might not need it. afaik stems of stock goat stabilizers are designed without those 'legs'.
