QUOTE(bangolufsen @ Jun 18 2020, 08:51 PM) Hahaha, yeah, ok, I don't think that deal is a one off either, they'll probably have equally as good a deal every now and then seeing that the phone probably can't sell for 2199 now that everyone knows that they can get it for 1,999 or even lesser. |

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Jun 19 2020, 11:09 AM) Hahaha ya that's stupid. LOL. So, means there's no way to prevent? I'm not concerning if anyone spying but worried that I broke the camera accidentally. On my Mi9T, happened once, where someone video call me on whatsapp, the camera popped up itself. I almost thought FBI or someone hacked my phone and try to spy on me |

QUOTE(azhar75 @ May 22 2020, 09:45 AM) (1) Malaysia Set is not having the EU ROM. Malaysia set comes with Global ROM. Wanna ask for your professional advice:(2) The difference as follows : » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « (3) EU ROM still keeping the following system apps: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « As the system apps are still present, I myself take my own initiative to further reduce some "background activities" by tweaking settings below: (a) Enable Smart Scenes options. (b) Disable access to Device ID. © Disable Unrestricted Data for all System Apps. (d) Disable Usage Access to all System Apps. (e) Disable Authorization & Revocation for all System Apps. All in all, the EU ROM has some effects to the background activities but not enough to prevent other nuisance. Therefore, user still need to tweak around further to minimize other background activities. (1) EU (Europe) ROM is NOT official from Xiaomi; just like other custom ROMs in XDA community. (2) Yes, the user needs to unlock the Bootloader (the official & legal method via Mi website) in order to be able to flash EU ROM. (3) As highlighted below : » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « All in all, MIUI is well known for its rouge background activities since MIUI version 1. If the user can bare the "nuisance", no harm to proceed with the stock MIUI. It's how Xiaomi makes money and sustain the SRP to be "affordable" and reaching the "Flagship Killer" title. Xiaomi awares users can flash stock ROM to other custom ROMs and loses the cash from the "background activities" in stock MIUI. There was a time they block the unlock Bootloader to prevent user flash custom ROMs. But backlash from their fans reverse that decision. As for me, for the past 5 Xiaomi devices, I only flash EU ROM immediately once the ROM is released. No turning back and won't try other custom ROMs. You can nominate me as the No. 1 Fan for EU ROM...LOL... 1) the EU stable v12 is out, r u on this rom? How is it? 2) I want to flash EU Rom, but do I have to root it also? If I dont root what m I missing? - don't wanna root because some bank app can't bypass magisk hide Thanks! |

QUOTE(ericlks91 @ Jun 19 2020, 08:26 PM) Wanna ask for your professional advice: 1) Me don't have the F1 right now. Me outstation. Don't worry if the new release EU ROM is OK or not becoz we can always and easily flash back the old EU ROM anytime (via latest TWRP) without hurting the data & installed apps. Ensure we have the old EU ROM at the root of the internal storage.1) the EU stable v12 is out, r u on this rom? How is it? 2) I want to flash EU Rom, but do I have to root it also? If I dont root what m I missing? - don't wanna root because some bank app can't bypass magisk hide Thanks! 2) Rooting is optional. Me never root the F1 so can't comment on the pros and cons of rooting. |
