Had a chat with a support agent around 7:45PM. Was told someone will call me in a short while. I am still waiting now 9:37PM. I'm not sure how to tell if it's painted on or not. Now I'm just afraid of it chipping again. My first iPhone but I guess I'm unlucky!

I regret not getting it from Apple Store on Lazada (15 days return policy)....

Had to queue at Switch due to CMCO only to be told they can't do anything about it but to try to ask the service centre..

Sorry, about the painted bit. You are lucky if you get any call. What is sure how sucky after service is here. Big time!

I believe at that point of time it wasn’t even a Malaysian CS. Probably US.

I stated my disappointment in my first and last Apple phone to them. Then she said she’ll pass me to a senior.

They took my report and sent it over to customer relations and asked me to call 1800 803 638 on monday 9am to get a solution from them.

Well to be honest threats like that doesn’t really concern Apple. No matter what problems reported apple will still make a lot of money with every iPhone release since to many people Apple can do no wrong. You can actually see it here in this thread with some posters.

Yes. Have better luck by calling Apple support hotline.

Last time during iphone 5S days. The switch has a loose sound when shake. Call them and they were happy to give me a replacement unit even I bought from maxis. But upon inspecting friends’ iphone of the same model and realizing all of them suffered from the same rattling sound, I called them again to cancel the replacement. The parting sentence was ‘ if you are still not happy about it, please call us again so we can make a replacement for you ‘

Definitely call them.

If it's normal they probably wouldn't have brush me off.

Called Apple Support 1800 80 3638 and was connected to a support person but had to connect to me the product team waited about 40 minutes. Then I was talking to an engineer and she took more of the details and gave me a link to upload more photos of the phone and the Uniq Combat Case: https://uniqcreation.com/products/combat-se...=32146798379071

It seems more of a spot chipping on the aluminium frame. But they will have to investigate further after reviewing more images before they can come up with a conclusion.

I'll be damned if we shouldn't use a case on this phone.

Heck my P9 Plus, P10, P20 Pro, Mate 20, Pixel 3a could use cases without any scratch, scuff, paint chipping or whatever.

Never used a Uniq case before but I don't buy the reasoning that a plastic case can chip off aluminium. Do let us know the update.

Plastic case maybe is possible as it’s just a paint on aluminium side of the phone.
But looking at the link on ts case it looks more like rubber material for the case? If rubber then I don’t think it will cause the damage to the phone which shown by ts.

Yeah, if it's hard plastic then probably there's a possibility

The situation when more chips appearing really shown seems due to case too tight or product quality compromised.
If the quality that bad wasn't that it will appear on many other ipSE2020 too?
There's some casing that damage the phone due to bad/misfit design, so then later they release v2 or v3 of the same case.

Well, keep it up, at lease if Apple decline your claim, you may try to claim from Uniq.

Don't think the case maker will compensate him though!

So my sister bought this model last week and yesterday the phone suddenly keep restarting non-stop every 1 minute.
Anyone else got this issue? You really can't do anything ---- can't backup, can't update, can't reset because the phone will just reboot itself.
