vcore needed.. usually 1.6v and above... good chips require lesser.. bad chips require more biggrin.gif

my advice is reach for the sky 1st before the the star.

try 3.6ghz 1st and see whether the temp is goo enough then go for broke.

dang.

back to the topic.
usually a 3ghz overclock doesnt need a raise in vcore rite.

usually yeah... unless the proc is so bad they need a vcore bump biggrin.gif

mine can go further than 3ghz, at an even lower vcore than stock vcore biggrin.gif

Hi Can you guys tell me if theres anything wrong with my settings. newbie here.

The CPUid doesnt seem to be showing my overclocked values as you can see in the Core Temp prog.
Since I wasnt sure how to get 1:1 ratio...i left it to 2:3. Should I be mending anything?
Is the temp normal or too high? Should i lower my vcore?

Sorry. Totally clueless. Im just hoping to oc it to 3.2ghz

Thanks for the help

thats because of EIST.

it lower the multiplier when the proc isnt on load.

and the proc is running at an overclocked setting.

i see. so when the load comes in it would go all the way to 3.2 ye? Does my Memory setting looks ok? I dont have a clue how to navigate around my bios (tpower i45) to get it to 1:1 like what the guide said.
*
yes.
when u running a program or game it'll run at 3.2ghz.

bout the bios setting im not sure as i never use those board but if u tell me what ram are u using it might help.
rite now the ram is running at 1066mhz.

i think that current setting is good as the Ballistix wont have problem running at 1066.

unless u wanna run it at lower speed then u have to change the multiplier.

4Ghz on WC set ups also very hard to reach, and urs somemore is only on air. I`ll bet it`ll just max out at 3.6-3.7

not all q6600 batch give same stock vcore ler... some are lower, some are higher... some just 1.2v, some 1.325v... of cos 1.325 is pretty high, though in most cases 1.325 is overkill vcore, and u can usually set it lower to run at stock speed @ 2.4ghz

Hmm, perhaps should overclock my Intel Q6600 too after take back from workshop. Overclockers need liquid cooling system installed right?
