QUOTE(simpul @ Jan 8 2009, 06:34 PM) I want to OC but scared to change the vcore?.. Is there any chance that I can OC without have to change the vcore? u can actually but i guess the result wont be good and sometimes inadequate vcore when overclocking can make ur pc hang and show the famous BSOD.

QUOTE(iBenQ @ Jan 11 2009, 11:06 PM) well i do have screenies of my oc with CPUZ... not as high as my bios settings though, and i once entered windows at 4140mhz, yet 4get to take pic judging from ur pic, i can say u dont even have to restart to be able to show that 5.4ghz... try using my mobo and u will at least know how difficult it is to be able to reach windows boot up screen... i bet u couldnt even post at 5.4ghz on a q6600 true indeed but it wasnt a q66 though but it was a e84. never had the chance to oc quad yet.

QUOTE(ajibs @ Mar 23 2009, 10:10 PM) macam mana nak OC Q6600@4ghz?.. ???mhz X 9X Cpu vcore nak letak berapa? my advice is reach for the sky 1st before the the star. try 3.6ghz 1st and see whether the temp is goo enough then go for broke.

QUOTE(iBenQ @ Mar 24 2009, 01:08 AM) hahaha... sadly it didnt reach top 3 phrase in my list dang. back to the topic. usually a 3ghz overclock doesnt need a raise in vcore rite.

QUOTE(iBenQ @ Mar 24 2009, 12:19 PM) usually yeah... unless the proc is so bad they need a vcore bump mine can go further than 3ghz, at an even lower vcore than stock vcore interesting. i never try undervolting. like to but the mobo im in now sucketh to the max.

thats because of EIST.
it lower the multiplier when the proc isnt on load.
and the proc is running at an overclocked setting.

QUOTE(lozerien @ Mar 25 2009, 01:54 AM) i see. so when the load comes in it would go all the way to 3.2 ye? Does my Memory setting looks ok? I dont have a clue how to navigate around my bios (tpower i45) to get it to 1:1 like what the guide said. yes. when u running a program or game it'll run at 3.2ghz. bout the bios setting im not sure as i never use those board but if u tell me what ram are u using it might help. rite now the ram is running at 1066mhz.

i think that current setting is good as the Ballistix wont have problem running at 1066.
unless u wanna run it at lower speed then u have to change the multiplier.

QUOTE(latias93 @ Mar 25 2009, 10:33 PM) Hmm, perhaps should overclock my Intel Q6600 too after take back from workshop. Overclockers need liquid cooling system installed right? a good air cooler is enough.

QUOTE(gamers maniac @ May 15 2009, 02:21 PM) OCZ Reaper HPC DDR2-800 they bad clocker. used them before but only last for a week. but mine can get max ddr900 5,5,5,15. so the extra cost over a normal value ram is just for a good looking heatsink then. QUOTE(antonio @ May 15 2009, 02:52 PM) What will primarily effect OC results is not the name Dominator, Gaming, Hyper X, Platinum, Red, Blue, Black and all the shenanigans that you might think does mean anything...well actually what affects the result is the chip under the heatsink, ramsink or the water block of your modules and you can have the most fanciest name in the market such as David Beckham DDR3 X1666, but if the chip is crap, it will always be a non-overclocker... People thinks that overclocking involves the series one module has stamped on its stickers, but the plain truth is, that you have to know what is under the bonnet... A Skyline GTS shares the same look apart from grill, bumper, less wide rear arches and wheels, but most of the time, average people might have mistaken it for a GTR. But what really differentiates it, is what lies under the bonnet, which is an RB26DETT as opposed to the nanny RB25DE or sometimes RB25DET from experience come knowledge.
