GUys Q6600 at 2.8 is there a significant increase in terms of performance? At 3.2Ghz do you gain a lot more compared to 2.8?

I noe theres an increase la i just wanna ask if the increase is substantial enough to warrant the increase. I mean if you only get a marginal increase then i may leave mine at 2.8 to keep the temperature more manageable.

When i enter Bios it says that the stock core for my q6600 is 1.325. Is this normal or does it indicate a weaker processor. I can't hit even 3.0 wif a core of 1.216.

Yeah, and i don't think i can hit 3.2 with my current setup as at 9X330 im getting a max temp of 72 when i stress with p95. Stable but i think if i want to hit 3.2 i may need to change my zalman CNP9700 NT. Kmarc may i ask for your load temps at 3.2 Ghz?

Ei ibenq can i ask what cooler you were using when you took the screenies for your q6600? Stressing at 3.2 your max temps only 57
My rig atm i just start p95 and almost immediately the temperature raises to the mid 50's. I'll post a screenie of my temps later tonight. This post has been edited by pl4tinum: Mar 31 2009, 02:29 PM |

Another question i have is that because i have such a high stock vcore, does that mean that using air cooling i will not be able to break 3.2Ghz with my proc? |

QUOTE(iBenQ @ Mar 31 2009, 04:07 PM) im not sure if stock vcore has anything to do with it... u c my stock vcore oso is 1.3v, but im able to hit 3.2ghz with just 1.216v... 1.3v gave me 3255mhz I also had the same thoughts as you initially. So i used the exact same settings that i used to reach 2.88ghz at stock core (i learnt from Kmarc's guide all the while i used air cooling bro |

I've been surfing around the net for a replacement for my 9700NT. According to some sources the Sunbeamtech CCF is more of a dual core based cooler is it? Cause i've heard that when it comes to a quad it's performance isn't that great. So in terms of air cooling anybody here can give me anything that is a lot better than what i'm currently using?

lol ibenq the ifx is the cooler that you once used as your siggy right? Were you satisfied with the performance? It's like one of the more expensive air coolers available on the market atm right?

Anybody tried using the coolermaster V8 or V10 with quad core setups? Cause i noticed that digital storm uses the V8 to cool their overclocked i7's. Need to check around for a really cooler as i already wasted rm240 when i got the zalman.

So seriously speaking if my stock core is so "powerful", you guys think that reaching a stable 3.6 on my proc using air cooling alone is possible?

But seriously the temps you achieve on programs are mainly for the purpose of testing stability right? Under normal operation you will seldom reach such temperatures right?
