1. if ur proc can be stable under 1.35, y not... mine 1.272v @ 3.2ghz tongue.gif

3 (should be no.2). duno, but defnitely will reduce lifespan... if can last for 8 years, it might be 5 years n so on... my advice is, just oc it if u need it... even 3 years is a long time to collect money n get a new proc tongue.gif

kenot..
tried to set to 1.325V, caused me BSOD.
means I cant go lower than my current v? (1.34)
Now is 1.3438V, so far so good.

Lately I got BSOD ...50 ~ page fault in non pages area.
is this caused by my RAM?
----
but im abit scare of my temp:
+-67C..
is this too high for core temp?
running multiple pages, played spore for +-30minutes.
im using stock cooler and heatsink.
OCed Q6600 2.4GHz 1066FSB to 3.0GHz 1333FSB.

Core 2 Quad 6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 1066FSB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115017

OCed to:
Clock: 3.00GHz
FSB: 1333
Vcore: 1.35
Temp: 55C-62C w/ stock fan/cooler
----------------------
Qs:
1. Should I decrease my CPU voltage to 1.325 or 1.3? Or others?
Since I've seen you guys running OCed 3.0GHz @ lower than 1.35V.

3. How long will my CPU last if I overclock like this and use it daily basis?  hmm.gif
-----------------------

*This is the 1st time I am doing overclock
*
It won't really decrease lifespan lor tongue.gif

this morning when I tried to turn my pc on, bsod after vista load...80, and then 2nd time page fault again..
last nite it was ok, i tried to run memory stability test also.. passed all.. hmm.gif
ive changed my timing to 5-5-5-15-2t from 5-5-5-12-2t, same 2.1v. (does it matter?)
then the problem disappears.
mobo: nForce 680i SLI (122-CK-NF68-AR).

Guys, my q6600 running at 3.2ghz now but the core temp will rise to 69c. Is that still acceptable? Wads the max temp i should let my core reach?

sry i meant bsod 0x000000080.
After vista finished load, BSOD..
Currently I've downclocked my cpu and my ram, not sure how to make it stable xD

im not sure either, i think sometimes it gets through windows mode, sometimes doesnt.
maybe just happen after i changed my timing then it get through without bsod.

is that intel stock fan/heatsink?
mine is around 63-71 when i put 3.0ghz
withour oc is around 55-65
isnt it too big gap in between?

---

so basically, i've experienced 2 bsods after OC, 0x000000080 and page_fault_blablabla

decrease only if u find the decreased voltage stable.IBT 100 rounds.slowly test
u see some of us clock 3.0 at 1.2 v like dat coz we using different mobo. and u're using Nvidia 680i chipset which is not a good OCer chipset especially for quads.need better clocker for SLI solution need use 780i chipset.my old P4 also heavily overvolted and it lasted 6 years and still running. btw, if ur proc died within 3 years, u can go claim warranty from intel provided tht no burnt mark on ur proc.it rarely happens unless u use 1.8V or above on ur proc.

latest temp updated tongue.gif.... max temp is during linx using 1536mb of ram, min temp is when full idle tongue.gif... vcore is stock (since ppl said VID = stock vcore, and my VID is 1.3000)... temp u c is during prime95 test, and i believe prime95 resembles more to real life performance than linx, since this linx is hardcore cpu stresser =.="

give comment if its good enuf, or its just average T_T

ps: got back my mobo asus p5k pro... buyer no time wait for shipping, call off the deal... who interested can contact me smile.gif

GUys Q6600 at 2.8 is there a significant increase in terms of performance? At 3.2Ghz do you gain a lot more compared to 2.8?
