JAL still fly to Narita instead of Haneda..or it is always the same ?
*
JAL always Narita from 1st day because of Code Sharing with MAS under One World.
MAS starting 2022 August only new route to Haneda twice per week but to Narita are everyday.

After Pandemic, Haneda management are very sneaky. All foreigners airlines landed to Haneda are all push to 10-11pm. 7pm-9pm Golden time are all reserve for ANA & JAL from around the world. Before pandemic, ANA from KUL to Haneda was 10:30pm, now 8pm.

ANA are current best Airlines from Malaysia to Japan, Either Haneda or Narita, both also golden Timing.

Hi guys, I'll be going to Japan end of this month for 6 days. Will be just travelling around Central Tokyo area. May I know if the IC card such as Suica will be preferable and more cost-effective instead of getting the JR tourist pass?

JR Pass not the best unless u travel a lot by Shinkansen.
You can look into Tokyo Wide Pass for 3 days for Tokyo area see if that suits u..

I'm planning to go Japan in Nov, and use the Tokyo wide pass to go kawaguchiko area

https://www.jreast.co.jp/multi/en/pass/tokyowidepass.html

P/S: Anyone going after 11 October can give some pointers if Sino+Sino+Pfizer is able to enter without doing PCR test please? Thanks!
Plan to enter Jap in 9th Nov for me.

at today's currency rate it's cheaper to spend in Japan than Singapore.
*
That I agree 100%. Even hourly hotel for prostitute cost RM$300+/night in Singapore and you could get a 3-4 star hotel in Japan.

Food price are similar but you get better quality food in Japan.

Yes. Worth it. Because from Tokyo to Nagoya then back to Tokyo by Shinkansen already worth the money.
From Nagoya to Takayama by JR Limited Express "HIDA" also covered by JR Rail Pass.

Without JR Rail Pass, From Nagoya to Takayama one way already 7500 Yen +-
Shinkansen from Tokyo to Nagoya one way need 13500 yen +-

Bro, You know where is Takayama or not? If dunno don't simply give your answer.
Going Kawaguchiko using Tokyo Wide Pass means you are not doing homework enough. doh.gif

Fuji Hakone Pass are the correct pass to used.

you can register now using the below link and steps, my friend with sino+sino+AZ approved to go after registering

https://www.hco.mhlw.go.jp/fasttrack/en/

if you get approval (blue background after registering) you are good to go from what the site says

QUOTE(Chaud @ Oct 7 2022, 11:12 AM)
yes. they recommend to only go if your transit is >5hrs. but that depends on where you wanna go and what you wanna do there
no need, can just go arrival and clear immigration. since you have the 2nd segment flight ticket on hand you can just straight go to the departure hall when you return
*
ughh dammit, i thought 4hrs ish cukup to look2 and snack before back to immigration gate for flight to Narita

wasnt planning to exit Jewel Changi at all la

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Oct 7 2022, 02:07 PM)
You will need to clear immigration first to visit Jewel and vice versa when checking back in. So I think you need at least 3 hours transit time to do that. On the other hand, if you just want to catch a glimpse, you can hope on to the skytrain for a quick view.
*
last i was at SG it was pretty smooth so i was hoping able to do a quick hop to jewel

I know all passes pro & cons. That guy now focus on Kawaguchiko, so Fuji Hakone Pass are more suitable, unless he give me his full itinerary.

Alright. Booked the following:

Travel Date: 30/11/22 (reach 2pm noon) > 11/12/22 (Flight at 12am, on 11th), all local times
Duration: 11 nights

PAL - 30NOV22 KUL>MNL>HND
MH - 11DEC22 HND>KUL

I'm thinking of dividing the days as per follows:

1 night in Tokyo
3 nights in Osaka
1/2 night in Kyoto
1/2 nights in Nagoya
1 nights in Fuji
3 nights in Tokyo

First timer to Japan, would like to seek for suggestions on the time allocated suitable for basics for the cities?

I'm looking for mainly sightseeing / food with perhaps consideration for visiting major attractions i.e. Theme parks / etc

Just started to plan my schedule

Travelling in pair.

Am considering the JRPass 1 week, then final few days maybe more localized passes.

first timer i generally recommend go tokyo more often first, but only if you like urban city kind of environment. also cause tokyo theres more things to do in a sense

if you like more rural parts, go hakone, fuji, kamakura, northern area like Niigata, Gifu for small town kind of feel. japan cities can be quite repetitive, osaka, kyoto, nagoya and tokyo are similar

Last time I did 18 days cover honshu only, used the 7 days jr pass, overall budget 7k, hotel + transport + flights (back in 2019)

Tokyo (arrive) - Nikko (1 night) - Tokyo (3 nights) - Kawaguchiko/Yamanakako (1 night) - start using JR pass - Nagoya (1 night) - Toyama (1 night) - Takayama (2 nights) - Kanazawa (1 night) - Hiroshima (1 night) - finish using JR pass - Kyoto (3 nights) - Osaka (3 nights)

Can go again, japan is really nice wub.gif

- Nagoya one night enough, or just skip altogether. Last time I detour here, supposed to go nagano but flooded cos of typhoon. If you decide to go, don't forget to try miso nikomi, it's the signature food there
- Kyoto 2 nights too short, 3 nights minimum... you need two full days to really experience the place
- Travel out as early as possible, you're going during winter, daytime hours very short. Lot of places open as early as 6am
- Try not to squeeze so many sights in one day, travelling by public transport isn't as fast as you think, sometimes between long transit and waiting for next train already almost half day gone, limit to 1-3 sights in between cities will do

Day 1 I'll be using Narita Express, to Shinjuku and spend there before heading to Kawaguchiko on Day 2 via Fuji Excursion. Day 3 will be heading back to Tokyo via multiple line.
Fuji View Express to Otsuki > Kaiji/Azusa to Shinjuku > Narita Express to Tokyo > Shinkansen to Kyoto (Ideal situation).

Been looking at JR only din even know got a Fuji Hakone Pass biggrin.gif

Probably JR pass maybe worth it for me, but I'll do my homework again or Sifu Sifu here have some advice.
edit: rough calculation, it may work leh.. why din I think about it.

First time going so apologize for my lack of knowledge.

Just a dumb question, anyone know who does pocket wifi now in KL?
As in I pickup in KL and return in KL. Previously I always used HIS Travel service but now it seems they no longer do so (I have yet to visit their BB branch to ask in person)
