I see that you will be there in November, which is considered to have high chance to have good visibility of the Mt Fuji.

I also stayed at a hotel near Fujisan Station previously. For cycling, I was told by the hotel staff it’s better to take the train to Kawaguchiko St and rent there instead of cycling all the way to the lake as it is an uphill route.

Like you, I also included Takayama in my trip, but in a different direction.

Ok, I may reconsider... I guess just good to cross off the list for first timer. Perhaps I'll just check the weather few days prior and decide because the hotel I booked offers cancellation up to days before, and if it's gonna be rainy I might just go somewhere else.

Public transport is very crowded especially if you take the sightseeing bus to go around. Very little food choices too and prices are quite expensive compared to other places, and all the restaurant almost full house everywhere.
Basically what I gathered doing research as well. If the stars aligned for all the bad things to happen, then it's gonna be pretty poor experience.

I have no interest in the Fuji-Q rides, and also not planning to get sardine-packed in the cable car + long queue, hence my plan lies a lot in Fujisan being visible.

Are you spending 3 hours at Chureito Pagoda?
too bad i didnt try the ice cream...
i was in a dilemma whether to try when im there coz im lactose intolerance and scare later will spoil my whole trip haha  sweat.gif

Just a rough plan. I think I will just search more and see if there are interesting things to do there.

Anyone tried using Smart EX website/app to register? Read the website saying Malaysia can access them but when I tried to go in the APP it says maintenance even though is not within the time yet. Website tried to register and say no permission

since you're staying near Fujisan station maybe can consider visiting Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine or Oshino Hakkai...

Ya, the first time I went, we used the shuttle bus to go around kawaguchiko, visibility of Mt Fuji is great.

Second time, went cycling but my wife was kinda new to cycling and got scared about cycling by the road with many cars driving by, visibility of the mt Fuji is bad, can’t see anything. However, when we went to Oshino Hakkai in that evening, the cloud cleared up and the view in Oshino Hakkai is great.

is it still manageable cycling around kawaguchiko?
do they provide bicycle locks or locks available at each attraction spot at kawaguchiko?
did you cycle to Oshino Hakkai as well?
my initial plan is to get the earliest bus to Oshino Hakkai.
not sure if its possible to cycle to Oshino n back to kawaguchiko station

If you are good with cycling, definitely no problem cycling around kawaguchiko. The bicycles comes with lock.

Oshino Hakkai is very far tho. Don’t think that cycling there and back is reasonable haha. Just take the bus there and back.

Hi, need some opinion here.

Let say if Airasia flight is ontime, i will land New chitose Airport at 830am, my first destination will be tomamu. Is it too risky to reserve bus that depart at 10am? or alternative would be taking the JR from minami-chitose.

AirAsia X arrived on International Terminal, Bus on Domestic Terminal, you had to walk cross a long bridge from International to Domestic. If custom control less ppl, 10am....can make it.
Dec - Feb? If Jan - Feb, Miss the 10am Bus, wait for next bus. Train got chances delay / cancel.

Oh Yes....Jan - Feb, No airlines can reach Sapporo on time. No airlines can leave Sapporo on time also. Runway always closed for snow cleaning.

RegentCID, any recommendation place to stay in Kyoto (any specific recommended hotel)? Kyoto station or Kawaramachi or any other places? I plan to stay around 6 days in Kyoto. with 1 day trip to Himeji, another 1 day trip to Uji, the rest stroll around Kyoto "must visit" places.

Winter season, Bus only for reservations passenger. If you miss the 10am bus. You can't take the next 12pm bus. Winter season Tomamu bus ticket sold out very fast.

If you really missed the bus. Next option was train. From Airport to Minami Chitose Station first then continued to Tomamu Station by JR Limited Express "Ozora''

If you don't select the seat. You had to self check-in thru website 2 days before departure or reach airport early and check in thru counter. Then you and your spouse can seat together.
Because the world always got weird people likes to buy middle seat. He wanted to break couple people seat together, this making him very high chances getting all 3 seat or 2 seat (If single flyer take the windows)

Thanks for clarification,
I do not want to spend extra money just to select seat, in that case I'll just check in thru webside 2 days before departure then.

just do online check-in exactly 24 hours before your departure. then if u lucky, u can select the first row. First row seats are usually blocked until check-in
