Might want to avoid winter as elderly can't stand the cold. Plus buses don't run so frequently during the winter.
Rent a car if you have more than 3 pax. Sapporo/Susukino can rely on train network. Any other adventure just rent car. More convenient.

Direct flight to CTS not many. I see AirAsia X fly there but not consistent.
Best is layover at HK or Shenzhen.
*
I believe AAX is the only one with direct KUL-CTS flights, but it doesn't run everyday - I think 4 or 5 flights per week or something.

SQ is starting direct SIN-CTS flights this winter, but not sure if it'll run outside of winter or not.

Otherwise can transit TYO with either JAL or ANA.

Hi guys, I’m checking out esim now for Tokyo and found a few brands, want to check if anyone here used them before and whether they’re worth the purchase in terms of speed and coverage?

Hello1010 - RM49.90 for 10GB / 10 days
Sakura/NTT docomo - RM71 for 10GB / 10 days

Both are on 4G only. I think that’s fine since 5G would consume data faster and thus probably deplete my usage faster.

Not planning to opt for unlimited as the price shoots up double terus, but not sure if hello1010 is trustable? (Price quite good)

Guys, my current itinerary is to visit Kiyomizudera at 3:30PM and hangout there til after sunset before going to Gion for dinner, does it make sense?

I read that morning Kiyomizudera is better due to less crowd, however the sunset photos look better to me.

Would you recommend morning or evening?

Edit: Visiting time is mid November

Damn facebook keep showing memories of my trip last now and now itching to go back again. Thinking to bring my parents to Hokkaido next year covering Sapporo/Otaru/Hakodate and maybe to nearby locations. I wonder if this is a good idea considering they are elderly and Hokkaido has lack of public transportation (?) compared to other cities. No specific month yet, if not snowy may consider to rent a car.

Any recommendation for direct flight KUL to CTS?
*
my plan next feb is KUL > NRT > CTS, going layover one day in narita to avoid jetlag

PEN > KUL > NRT is Batik air
NRT > CTS is either spring japan or jetstar depending on which is cheaper

Yes makes sense. No problem with that plan. Gion got different feel at night.

Guys, need some help here on my travel plan from Takayama to Fujisan, unwise choice I know but hotels are booked and paid so unfortunately not much I can change now. Travel day will be on Saturday if it helps...

0643 Takayama > Nagoya (Hida) > Tokyo (Hikari) > 1520 Fujisan (Bus from Tokyo Steel)
The bullet train reaches Tokyo station at 1112, the JR Bus departs at 1120 which is too tight. Next bus is already 1320, so my only choice is taking lunch here before departing. Another problem is this is susceptible to traffic... so arrival time may vary, even though 4PM arrival is perfect for checking into hotel.

0643 Takayama > Nagoya (Hida) > Shin-Yokohama (Hikari) > Hachioji > Otsuki > 1336 Fujisan
Cheapest (ticket at Otsuki) and most reliable option, 3 train transfers, predictable and reaches earliest, lunch can be had on train and then we save a couple of hours for visiting the area.

0740 Takayama > Matsumoto Stn (Nohi) > Otsuki Stn > 1429 Fujisan
Most expensive at 4400yen/pax + Otsuki ticket, but can wake up later and only one transfer. This looks the most sensible, but is the option below better?

0830 Highway Bus from Takayama > 1230 Kawaguchiko
RM182 on Klook, no transfer but this listing has no ratings at all.. not sure how reliable, otherwise this is the best choice. Likely no traffic?

Appreciate any input/suggestions..

Very expensive, but i lucky managed to book one airbnb house sharing for bout rm1.3k 2 person one week, a lot of people already booked the hotel one year before the snow festival hence the expensive price

Just check on agoda one night almost 1k bangwall.gif

I will take 3rd option.
Nohi Bus very reliable. It wont' go wrong.
Matsumoto Station to Otsuki Station will be JR Limited Express "Azusa"
Otsuki Sation to Fujisan Station can take JR Limited Express "Fuji Kaiji / Excursion" Or Fujikyuko Local train
If you plan to take Both JR Limited Express train. At Matsumoto Station can buy both ticket + seat reserved.

Strange, some of the Azusa trains on Navitime shows it's not covered by JR pass, despite conflicting info on the internet.

I think Azusa departed at 0910 from Matsumoto station, when I arrive with the first Nohi bus @ 1023, that's why Navitime is instead suggesting the JR Shinonoi/Chuo line that's departing at 1040 instead.

Fujisan station would be more convenient for me. The bus schedule is not so aligned with the schedule because earliest I can reach Mishima is 1119, but the bus is departing at 1120 and the next is an hour later already. Also I kinda dislike the idea of taking bus in a multiple transfer journey, unless it's the first part because I'm not sure I'll miss trains and stuff, end up wasting the booked bus tickets.
