QUOTE(Rusty Nail @ Aug 15 2007, 02:52 PM) Which will then kill the Persona???If i'm buying a sedan, i think rather wait for the Campro with VIM/CPS. Current Campro FC is not very encouraging. When will the new VIM/CPS models be launched? End of the year or next year together with BLM 1.3? QUOTE(Matrix @ Aug 15 2007, 04:13 PM) Which will then kill the Persona??? kill the persona? well, the new waja + CPS stand a better chance killing it's new brother. as for the Gen2 + CPS, that one maybe for small family man who likes spirited driving. If i'm buying a sedan, i think rather wait for the Campro with VIM/CPS. Current Campro FC is not very encouraging. IMHO, the waja's QC is still questionable, even for the new face lifted version. don't know when's the launch date. everything seems to be top secret This post has been edited by Rusty Nail: Aug 15 2007, 04:19 PM |

Is the Persona same size with Gen-2 or Waja??(interms of spaciousness). |

QUOTE(Matrix @ Aug 15 2007, 04:13 PM) Which will then kill the Persona??? i think they already mention that in this new persona, the campro is tuned so that it will hav more powah in lower rev compare to the current campro which need high rev for the ponies to come out.. means that this 'new' campro is more to city drive and not so good in highway.... good enuff rite...If i'm buying a sedan, i think rather wait for the Campro with VIM/CPS. Current Campro FC is not very encouraging. or you can wait for teh new gen2 which hav all the vim/cps/wtf in it for the sporty pleasure.... i am aiming to buy the new gen2 too if it comes with glovebox and other improvement in this persona.. QUOTE(Matrix @ Aug 15 2007, 04:28 PM) I thought all Proton cars QC are questionable...even the Savvy TUV thingy is probably TUV no more after the Germans left... TUV are just standards (like ISO). and standards can be copied. it's enforcing the standards that seems what lacking in the local scene. especially QC. btw, the TUV certificate have to be renewed every 2 years. and isn't the savvy already 2 years old? Between Waja and Gen2, i don't really see a lot of space difference. Is the Persona same size with Gen-2 or Waja??(interms of spaciousness). IMHO, the Waja is more spacious then the Gen2, in both boot space and rear passenger leg room. so in terms of space, i'd say that the Waja should have the same amount of space with the Persona. I'm just gessing based on pictures in paultan and my previous experience with waja and gen2. have yet to view the Persona in detail, though. |

QUOTE(bomberkenny @ Aug 15 2007, 02:35 PM) After seeing and being in one, I would say it is definitely way better than MyVi... (only in terms of looks and built quality, doubt it will drive worst than MyVi though... QUOTE(binary @ Aug 15 2007, 02:38 PM) This Persona is 1.6 while Myvi 1.3. In terms of power, Persona wins, but in terms of fuel economy, Myvi still better. I was told that the ECU and TCU has been fine tuned...Now don't have to rev up to 4000rpm to feel the power... Power will now come in at 2500-2800rpm... The salesperson was so confident that he 'challenged' me on a test drive next week... And the gearbox has been upgraded, saying no more jerking like is Gen2 when u slow down the car... QUOTE(ulet @ Aug 15 2007, 03:24 PM) just came back from showroom. Yes! Totally agree...the quality soo much improved ! the paint, the finishing, the fitting... i give good thumbs up. there is no uneven gap at the body panels and the paint also so much better. i will says the material on the dashboard and other places also so much improvement compare to gen2. i will says a good job by proton except the engine department which i think lack of power. so far the prices, i think is worth it. Doors close with a solid 'thud'... Plastics don't look so plastic now... But I do dislike the Toyotaish fabric on the door...makes the car less classy... And the salesperson there are quite nice as well... QUOTE(tvcat @ Aug 15 2007, 04:08 PM) Haih... another Typical basher... |

QUOTE(MotorTrader) Proton did not provide comparisons to the Gen2 but offered factory data on straightline performance compared to the Wira 1.5 and 1.6. The Persona Manual does 12.5 seconds for 0 - 100 km/h while the Wira did 12.1 seconds and the Wira 1.6 did 10.8 seconds, so if a Wira outruns you off the line, it's to be expected (although more than a few Wira owners have modded their engines). In consumption, Proton's own tests show that the Wira 1.6 is 10% less thirsty than the Persona but this would depend on driving style and conditions too. This is a very sad fact... |

Haven't saw the real car yet, but I just notice they have different interior color scheme for different line.
The one with the black/grey/silver interior look nice, while some having grey/red on the seat fabric and brown/lightblue on the door panel?! So which is which? p/s: The color description might be wrong. This post has been edited by dstl1128: Aug 15 2007, 05:18 PM |
