hey..just asking, since everyone here mention that the campro engine dont have enough power in the low rev.
i mean for car noob/ race enthusiast ppl, will we notice the difference?
i'm drivng an iswara sedan, how does it compare with both engine performance in the low rev?
is it noticable? or u need to be a real car enthusiast to notice it?

if u drive a saga/an iswara when you're in 2K-3K RPM range you can feel the car is moving.but with campro engine,it feel a bit sluggish and tend to make the car feel heavier to the driver when in low rev.if am not mistaken the TCU will improve a bit the sluggishness of the campro engine (auto only).it is not just campro, even an alfa romeo boxer engine felt sluggish when it is in low rev.

Ohh..so u mean, even noob also will notice the slight inefficient of torque there huh.
Anyway, i read somewhere before, somebody mention that by changing doono what 4-2-1 extracter and some other things will solve some low torque of campro. Is it true? if is true, can somebody share the modification needed? i think it will help other campro user.

geess..what with all this ppl/basher. i dont mean to say. their comment are very childish...worst is with WHAT I LIKE. is not everything about what you like ok. u dont count as the majority.

pls be more open minded when commenting. what is good then praise, what is bad then just comment WHY is bad.

your comment or your preference is not a standard for what is must be, suppose to be, or what other ppl must follow.

It same wise as religion, you dont say ur religion is the best and everyone must listen to you. Always must have open minded and respect each other view.

geess

ok, i test drive the persona on saturday at Glenmarie Proton. The car i tested is Medium-line Auto Persona. The old proton car when u start engine you can hear the engine sound very clearly. For this persona, i was surprise after i turn the engine on. It is very quite. Tumbs to that. Space wise, i've never sat in a Gen-2 before, so my point will base on waja, iswara and perdana. Frankly speaking, i think the space is lesser compare to these other 3 cars. i think the arm rest makes the driver side feels cramp. I dont really like the back sits as it is too low for my liking and cushion is abit hard. i guess is because the foldable sits.
i've never drive using campro engine before, the persona auto i test drive does not really have the lack of low torque in the lower rpm. Well, for me i guess, noob, i dont feel it. It feels like what an auto can to be like but powerful as well. gear changing ratio is good.
One thing i really like is the suspension. i go thru some bumpy road, the car just ride it thru only without much vibration. Then i purposely drove to a slightly big hole on the road and the car just ride over. Usually car i drove just sink in to the hole before bouncing it out. so i guess is really comfortable rite.
I think the engine is powerful. comfortable wise i still couldnt give too high point as it is slight hard for my liking. Hope this helps. It is a good car i would say.! cheers

Added on August 20, 2007, 11:09 amohh one more thing to add, i was there at glenmarie about 3 something in the afternoon. And then there are having some marketing strategy or something like that. which is eating durians and fruits. i like durians but i was thinking durians and car launch does really click right? what if those ppl never clean their hands properly and touch the car...damn yucks rite.. weird i would say. but anyhow, is a good thing, everyone enjoy the fruit eating session.

hey..previously some one mention that persona is offering 18" sports rim as accessories rite. Then some more mention that using 18" on persona is over kill and actually increase FC and torque.

why is that ar? i always thought the bigger the rim the better. lol.. i see MTV, they sometimes use 21" rim too. so it means bad?

Bigger rim = heavier car

so when ur car is heavier, ur engine need more strength to pull ur car, so when ur engine torque more, it needs more petrol that usual smile.gif

correct me if i'm wrong.

QUOTE
bigger rims = wider tires... so you have more traction or contact with the road.. so you need more power to move your car.. more power = you need more fuel... therefore FC increase... btw it wont increase the torque..

ahhh..ic..hmm...then i wonder why so many ppl go get bigger rims for??
for the makeup?
but isnt it more traction on the road, you have more grip hence pickup is better....then also since it is bigger, then lesser turning of the wheels...hahaa..i doono how to explain. emm...for example, 1 revolution of 16" say let ur car move 50cm. so means 18" will go further than 50cm.
get what i mean? means seen revolution lesser means the wheel spin lesser then FC actually do decrease rite?
hahahhahaahhahahahhah....

bigger rims is for more traction yes
but if for example your engine is just a 1.6.... there is only that big a rims u can put before u suffer from performance hit / FC increase.......

then what is the best rim size for the persona?

Malaysians don't mind waiting months for a new car... tongue.gif
Look at the god-like car...the waiting list went to 6months at one time...

although i think most Malaysians don't mind waiting since is already a culture here de..muahaha..but anyhow, this is a come back from Proton, the longer the waiting list, the more it will jeopardize its image again regardless how good is the product. IMO.

Some more new model from other manufacturer are coming out, the faster they meet the demand the safer Proton are but provided the QC is good.

I think is do or die for Proton. i dont mean die; die. emm..okay, return to its dark age again.
