i choose e2180 cuzz i tot with the extra multiplier i can go further but sadly i was wrong....

put it this way, most e21x0 have fsb wall around 400fbs regardless what multi u have. by gettin chip with higher multi will decrese d chance of hittin d wall, but it is not necessaryly guarantee u can achive high clocks. and just becoz most chip have that 400fsb wall it doesn't mean that e2140 confirmed reach 8*390 ish fsb, e2160 can reach 9*390 ish, e2180 sure can clock 10*390ish fsb etc... thre is no guarantee in oc, u need luck (in gettin a gud chip) beside gettin quality components like ram, psu or other related... doh.gif

and remember e21x0 are value chips, intel ain't gonna kill the sale of its mid range / high end chips by allowin ALL d value chips to be able to do what d former can do. smile.gif

QUOTE(allenultra @ Dec 31 2007, 01:02 PM)
Punish, u sure E2180 is a good OC chip?

What I read around, E2140/2160 do perform well in OC but not E2180.
IP35-E been very convincing, thus I would say your CPU already reach the limit.

P35 board should do 500fsb or near 500fsb, so what actually holding you back?

Temperature? CPU? motherboard bios?
*
it's obvious that d chip is hittin d wall, no way on earth an e21x0 chip can do 500fsb. smile.gif

Anyone who had successfully done the BSEL mod on these E21x0? I think those so called windows defogger kit isn't readily available in Malaysia.

Kinda need to get the 1066MHz mod done to crack 266MHz on my Conroe1333-D667 mobo due to the PCI-E frequency. biggrin.gif

wah liao..
100% OC.. congrats bro..

I'm still stuck @ 3.08GHz / 387FSB, cant push more even pumped 1.5V and loosen the RAM timing..
damn, got walled processor.. sad.gif

like it has been said, getting a cpu is a draw of luck. some get less walled CPUs, some gets 'more' walled cpu. If your on any good decent OC board + knowledge in OC, the board is obviously not the limiting factor

yeah, maybe bro kucing is right, I got walled procs. sad.gif
and to reach 3.08, need around 1.4v, less than that not stable, cannot run even SuperPI.

Kinda same with L2 stpping Id been used on my E4300 before. 3GHz already being walled no matter what voltage u supply.

bro, wat's voltage u need to feed for 375*8. mine need 1.3875v in bios. if u can't even complete sp 1m, better lower d speed as it's quite unstable imo. smile.gif

some M0 still capable of > 3.0GHz, just that they need lotsa voltage like 1.45v above (in my case) to break d wall, which imo, not worthy as u get lotsa heat in return... smile.gif

and some Question...
after overclock... i try using Everest Ultimate (ver4.20...)
using the Benchmark tools, and i saw my DDR RAM also overclock from DDR2 667 become DDR2 833...as this picture
user posted image

and my original DDR2 667 is standard/value kingston RAM...also my proc using OEM heatsink... if that any problem if i want to using this "clock" for my daily use of my pc...

this is print screen of my current voltage/temperature, reading by everest

drop ya ram multi and pump ya fsb up. if ya chip is a decent one, it should be able to do 2.8GHz w/o havin d need for extra juice... smile.gif
