I also think its quite high. Only superPi 1M should ok but for daily use and stability @ 1.56v and air cooling is not recommended i think.

Pentium will not die. The introduction of Pentium back in 1993 was a big hit anyway.

But 1MB sure bottlenecks in many cache intensive application especially games. E6420 perform similar to E2series @ 3GHz

Eh, got default 3 GHz Core processor. Got only X6800 that is 2.93GHz which stock multiplier can go to 3.9GHz. Im referring to Anandtech website. Its tru u need right mobo, psu, ram, and air cooler.

Dont try to kill ur ram nod.gif

Added on June 21, 2007, 10:42 pmBy the way superpc, dont you think ur beetle is the culprit for not oc any higher? Or maybe not, try to increase Vmch, Vfsb, and Vcore, L2 needs high Vcore, If u want to go 3.3GHz and higher maybe need 1.5v and above.

QUOTE(pcomet @ Jun 22 2007, 12:16 AM)
I just bought :

C2D 2160
Gigabyte GA-p35-DS3
Galaxy 8600GT (OC)
2 x 1GB Corsair Value Ram
Enermax 460W
1 160GB HDD
1 Imation DVD writer
Audigy 2zs

Possible oc the proc and the GPU for more better performance?Just go for some safe OC then should be ok , coz dun have bigger cooler~
Let me know how to oc it , pm me or post here . tqtq

If later i change my ram to 2gb xms 800 corsair ram will it betteR?
*
That is possible. Changing ur ram wont change that much. If u set for around 2.8GHz on stock air coolong it should be ok.

my 2160 need 1.4V for 3.0ghz, running 24/7 folding
reli not a good overclock chip on my hand mad.gif
if i try to shot it and get it to be fried, i wonder if i can claim the warranty and get a new chip tongue.gif
*
No wonder bcoz of L2 stepping. It should not be blamed. 3GHz for 1.4V ok edi.
