and for those who with 2180 can your proc reach 3.2Ghz and how much vcore it need....my proc cannot run 3.2 even with 1.4vcore... GTG |

QUOTE(Punish @ Dec 30 2007, 10:25 PM) or maybe its just me...i cannot run 400FSB on Ip35-E stock voltage donno why..... not all chip can do 400fsb on stock voltage, even it's a m0 chip. and for those who with 2180 can your proc reach 3.2Ghz and how much vcore it need....my proc cannot run 3.2 even with 1.4vcore... GTG mine (m0) need 1.4725v, what say u? |

so your point is what holding my mobo to reach 400fsb was my proc...?
and your m0 1.4725 it to reach what? 3.2Ghz or 400fsb? GTG This post has been edited by Punish: Dec 30 2007, 10:34 PM |

QUOTE(Punish @ Dec 30 2007, 10:33 PM) so your point is what holding my mobo to reach 400fsb was my proc...? it doesn't matter 8*400 or 7*400, it takes lotsa voltage to run 400fsb, which i found pointless as performance gained is not much, but u gains lotsa heat... and your m0 1.4725 it to reach what? 3.2Ghz or 400fsb? GTG e21x0 are known to have this fsb wall issue, but not all thou... |

Actually almost everything can be overclocked. It's a matter of where the limit is. For example those Corsair Value RAM may be stucked at 350Mhz and Hynix 400Mhz and Micron D9's 450Mhz (just as example).
Same goes for your board, CPU and the rest |

My chip is really a bad chip.Well, your millage may vary when oc.I can't even go 37x stable, maybe due to my very crappy psu.Next month really need to hot one corsair VX450W and see how.My mobo is Abit IP35 Pro and ram is Crucial leh.So you get the idea,oc have a lot of factor and is very luck dependent.

Good luck but new PSU might not give you a better OC if at the first place it isn't the one at fault

Punish, u sure E2180 is a good OC chip?
What I read around, E2140/2160 do perform well in OC but not E2180. IP35-E been very convincing, thus I would say your CPU already reach the limit. P35 board should do 500fsb or near 500fsb, so what actually holding you back? Temperature? CPU? motherboard bios? |
