1) As you like, u want to run the ram at lower speed or OC it. 2) Who said so? go for the higher multiplier for higher clockspeed. 3) Well, I push my E2160 straight to 300fsb. lol

QUOTE(§layerXT @ Sep 15 2007, 05:05 AM) Usually for E2160 if 1:1 setting should be ok at 3.2(400x8) @ 44412/55515 (value ram). The ram also need at least 2.0vdimm. QUOTE(goldfries @ Sep 15 2007, 05:07 AM) hey guys ! i am now overclocking my E2160 (stock 1.8Ghz) to 3.2Ghz and using 2 x 1Gb Kingston HyperX PC6400 (800Mhz) ram ! to get a stable overclock of fsb:mem ratio, i Underclock my memory under stock speed !!! i would like to ask 1. any problem if i underclock my memory? why ? 2. should i increase my memory voltage? how much ? All helps are apprecieted !!! im so happy i can find this thread !!!

Heyya! 1.) there is absolutely no problem what so ever if u underclock, but why do it? ur are wasting ur money no? 2.)you only increase it if u want to overclock it, and increasing voltages is to stabilize an overclock and why would you want to underclock ur rams?

why my cpuz detected my multiplier x6 only but my bios was detected x8
proc:2140
btw what's the majority highest bus speed for stock vcore
do i need to increase my ram voltage?
sorry for noob question this is my 1st time oc
currently i'm running 280 x 8

yup 8x333 is a good start.
if you're going 8x400 - please monitor the temperature, it gets hot after 3ghz IMO.

Guys, thanks for the input. Anyhow, my final result is this Multipler x8 FSB 300 Final Speed 2.4ghz Ram ratio I dropped to 2, (so from upping the FSB, it raise from 400 - 600)
Idling at around 40c (did nothing with the stockfan except slap on some arctic5)
I can't set the ram ratio at 3.33, because when I raise the FSB, and the ram breaches the 800 point, it will definitely crash. Is that normal? I'm using cheapo kingston 667.
Anyhow, Im quite satisfied. When I bought my 24" benq, I was pissed cause I couldnt play 1080p movies smoothly. Tried to play the same movie at factory 1.6ghz, and still as slow as my AMD64 2ghz. Clock that baby to 2.4 and its smooth as butter.

QUOTE(bryanyeo87 @ Sep 18 2007, 08:40 PM) imagine clocking it to 3ghz+ wouldnt that be like lubricant? LOL Yeah. But even with 25-30% cpu usage, after an hour, it seems to idle at 47c..fan speed around 1870 rpm. Is this considered hot or just the limitation of the cheapo stockfan? Edit: I'm monitoring it through the EasyTune5 that comes with gigabyte. This post has been edited by Doggystyle: Sep 18 2007, 11:41 PM

@Doggystyle dont use easytune, coz that monitors the middle of the core and not the hottest part so ur hottest part is about 52 or so...and set the fan to max pls if u intend to oc on stock cooling...
use lavalys or speedfan instead of easytune =/
@kengkhim well it depends la, do u want ur processor to be full throttle 24/7 (use more power and generate more heat?) or do u want it to save some pwoer and lower the heat

yes i highly recommedn p35 ds3 its under rm400 now, and its highly ocable, unless ur the extreme type of fella doing phase and cascade or LN2 then i recommend p35 dq6 @kenghim if u have C1E enabled, my as well enable EIST together mar
