I just bought :

C2D 2160
Gigabyte GA-p35-DS3
Galaxy 8600GT (OC)
2 x 1GB Corsair Value Ram
Enermax 460W
1 160GB HDD
1 Imation DVD writer
Audigy 2zs

Possible oc the proc and the GPU for more better performance?Just go for some safe OC then should be ok , coz dun have bigger cooler~
Let me know how to oc it , pm me or post here . tqtq

If later i change my ram to 2gb xms 800 corsair ram will it betteR?
*
can see ur Corsair use wat chip...? new Corsair got lotsa negative comments on OC'ing... but i know i reached 266x9 and RAM DDR800 wif 2 pcs Mushkin 512MB DDR667 RAM... for DDR800 better to get Team or Crucial... cuz Corsair only give Micron chip for DDR1066 and above... sweat.gif

Nope, the E4xxx series is better due to the 2mb cache as opposed to the 1mb cache of the E2xxx. Anyways u cant ask more from a sub rm200+ chips, what else, they overclock well.
*
err... didn't some reviewers already prove tat having more cache has not much diff in real time performance... hmm.gif

damn motherboard. Biostar TP35D2-A7 freakin' annoying.

it goes by 3:5 F:R ratio by default. so imagine how far can i OC la. aihhh.

well, i reach 2ghz so far and you know what - i'm damn suprised that my KVR DDR2 667 can do 416mhz! yup!! that's DDR2 832 already!

i haven't memtest or whatever la but seriously, if don't touch 2.6ghz then i'm really not happy la.
*
err.... the Mushkins Enhanced basic in my shop can do 400 easily d... also reach 500 b4... no big deal... unless it's advance module chip... but loose stability at 550 and can't do further than 1200... shakehead.gif the worst thing is... my Corsair XMS2 1GBkit(512MB X 2) does the same exact thing at half price... but wif tighter timings...

ermm..meaning?cedar mill is better or conroe is better?due to cache? sweat.gif
*
Cedar Mill was way better than Conroe-L in terms of OC... but not for normal use...

Cedar Mill can't win over Conroe at all... sweat.gif

*Cedar Mill = Celeron 3 series
*Conroe = Core 2 Duo
*Conroe-L = Celeron 4 series...

hehe. i'm surprised to see my KVR reach that. even my DDR400 BT-D43 also don't go that far. smile.gif

this one, Kingston chip and Hynix chip. smile.gif http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=228449

ahh. no need to buy DDR2 800 already. yay.
*
err... DDR800 can go further... sweat.gif i play around 500MHz since my GA-965P-DS4 & Corsair XMS2 1GBkit(512MBx2)...
Here is a cincai OC juz to show how easy it is to be more than 400MHz... sweat.gif
Here's my another OC under testing... icon_rolleyes.gif which i 4got to turn off EIST and all those crap... doh.gif

Now tat i done some OC and tested in a few hardwares... i notice tat cheaper performance RAMs doesn't give tat much of edge to higher level OCers... unsure.gif but hey... they are still cheap... actually i wanted to order the Mushkin HP or Redline series but Mushkin haven't start importing those yet... cry.gif even EM series also very limited which can be found in Low Yat which is also quite rare... wait until my next Hdd arrive then i can start assembling my old parts into my 2ndary rig... for "downloading" purpose... smile.gif and see E2160 wif Corsair XMS2 1GB(2x512MB) kit DDR667 n my 1 year old GA-965P-DS4... smile.gif

you don't get what i mean. smile.gif of course we all know DDR2 800 can go even more, but point is i don't need it already when my DDR2 667 can already do DDR2 900 speed. smile.gif
*
err... no... actually 667 can also go up to 1000... wait until i rebuild my BT rig from my old parts than i show u... already have a E2160 at hand... now it's a matter of my next HDD... nod.gif icon_idea.gif Hynix, Samsung, Micron & Mushkin shouldn't have much problem wif tat...
n i came to realize tat either my mobo, proc or temp is bottlenecking my OC... my RAM can't seem to go higher than this at the same timing...

aih you ah. i'm not here to say how far it can go la cos i'm just talking about MY RAM. smile.gif furthermore it depends on chip.

for now i'm just happy to see mine touch DDR2 900. biggrin.gif
*
bro... ur RAM chip is Hynix leh... not easy to get leh... should be able to climb higher... brows.gif i remember only the DDR533 easy to get D9 and Hynix chips... but now majority also Winbond or AM... shakehead.gif

*Cedar Mill = Celeron 3 series
*Conroe = Core 2 Duo
*Conroe-L = Celeron 4 series...

i only know there are prescott, cedar mill, allandale and conroe. dunno about conroe-L, celeron 3 and 4 series....
*
Celeron 347 3GHz still selling at Low Yat... u can check out their pricelist... icon_idea.gif
Celeron 420 1.6GHz... is a replacement to Celeron 347... basically it's based on Intel Core architecture wif 1 core less and less cache... icon_rolleyes.gif

I think nowadays should at least go for dual core for basic gaming and multitasking coz already tried celeron D  347 on Vista, quite annoying.
*
are u sure...? how much RAM u squeeze in...? i got no problems wif 347... it's a great RM150 Proc for me... even outperform AMD X2 3800+ in super_PI... sweat.gif
