actually this E2*** series is a dual core proc or not??beside it's cache, what's diff with E4*** series??
*
YES it is. it's based on Conroe (E6300 and the likes) architecture BUT with stripped down stuff and all.

E4xxx series is on Allendale architecture.

damn motherboard. Biostar TP35D2-A7 freakin' annoying.

it goes by 3:5 F:R ratio by default. so imagine how far can i OC la. aihhh.

well, i reach 2ghz so far and you know what - i'm damn suprised that my KVR DDR2 667 can do 416mhz! yup!! that's DDR2 832 already!

i haven't memtest or whatever la but seriously, if don't touch 2.6ghz then i'm really not happy la.

WTH my DDR2 667 is now running at DDR2 916!!

EDITED : btw due to the above RAM limitation (stupid 3:5 FSB RAM Ratio) i'm now running 2.2ghz.

oops. 3dmark06 will hang when speed too high. oh well, darn. drop down the speed to 2080mhz damn ratio is still at 3:5.

i thought easy, Intel chipset. plop in the thing will be 1:1 by default. mana tau lowest it could go is 3:5 sad.gif

2200 la. can do some tests but can't run 3dmark properly.

i'm limited by that ratio. if i could do 1:1 then the testing would be better.

now i feel like exchanging with P965 board.

err.... the Mushkins Enhanced basic in my shop can do 400 easily d... also reach 500 b4... no big deal...  unless it's advance module chip... but loose stability at 550 and can't do further than 1200... shakehead.gif  the worst thing is... my Corsair XMS2 1GBkit(512MB X 2) does the same exact thing at half price... but wif tighter timings...
*
hehe. i'm surprised to see my KVR reach that. even my DDR400 BT-D43 also don't go that far. smile.gif

this one, Kingston chip and Hynix chip. smile.gif http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=228449

ahh. no need to buy DDR2 800 already. yay.

btw guys, i thought that if i disable EIST then the multiplier and vcore won't jump around already. mine still jumps around.

I believe u disable all the spread spectrum/EIST?
Maybe its the time to try Polygon's mod bios.

If not because of the ram divider issue, you should be able to clock 2.5ghz or more with stock hsf @ stock vcore on e2140.
*
yeah. divider issue lor.

and last i check Polygon's mod, even though 400 / 533 mhz setting available, it doesn't cure the divider issue.

err... DDR800 can go further... sweat.gif i play around 500MHz since my GA-965P-DS4 & Corsair XMS2 1GBkit(512MBx2)...
you don't get what i mean. smile.gif of course we all know DDR2 800 can go even more, but point is i don't need it already when my DDR2 667 can already do DDR2 900 speed. smile.gif

err... no... actually 667 can also go up to 1000... wait until i rebuild my BT rig from my old parts than i show u... icon_idea.gif  Hynix, Samsung, Micron & Mushkin shouldn't have much problem wif tat...
n i came to realize tat either my mobo, proc or temp is bottlenecking my OC... my RAM can't seem to go higher than this at the same timing...
*
aih you ah. i'm not here to say how far it can go la cos i'm just talking about MY RAM. smile.gif furthermore it depends on chip.

for now i'm just happy to see mine touch DDR2 900. biggrin.gif

Added on August 18, 2007, 11:59 amok this is freakin' stupid. it took BIOSTAR 5 days to reply, they gave me a new BIOS but heck i'm not sure whether they understood what I was complaining.

I replied, I've not gotten any answer on the same day so heck. I decided not to wait. Made the effort to find a floppy disk and drive, updated the BIOS and ............... WTH, still the stupid RAM ratio.

aihh. me no happy la.

whats the model and the bios version ur using? i can try to ask sum1 to try modding it =)
or would u consider a silver conductive pen to make the fsb 1333 or 1066? =D
*
1. people HAVE mod it before. it wasn't successful. options appear but can't get the ratio.
2. i have the latest BIOS from BIOSTAR itself, not even found on BIOSTAR website. did it help? NO!
