Debatable statement. It also depends on the cooling, CPU rated speed ( a lower speed family tends to overclock more easily, ie a 1.8ghz default speed will overclock more compared to a 3.0ghz default rated speed of the same family) and also the 'batches' of the cpu, which isnt that important as most of them will overclock relatively well

Eh, got default 3 GHz Core processor. Got only X6800 that is 2.93GHz which stock multiplier can go to 3.9GHz. Im referring to Anandtech website. Its tru u need right mobo, psu, ram, and air cooler.

It's normal for P965 chipset to power down n up after fsb manipulation in bios. This is "Global Reset" as it sets the proper NB strap speed

What cooling are u on? The NB is pretty toasty, perhaps adding a fan to it will help cool it down. u shouldnt need so much Vmch to hit 400fsb, +0.1v will do. And yes, agree with rlhc17, the E2XXX has fsb walls around 400fsb.

Flashed the FP-IP9's BIOS to BETA 14 and guess what? It blinkin works, altho funnily, only at FSB's of 333Mhz and beyond with setting Unlinked. Otherwise tak boleh boot. Currently at stock volts 3.0Ghz priming away. Stock aluminium heatsink in use till can find good one second hand (Temps 73C according to sensor, which I don't trust). Max with the assistance of a Japan Servo 120mm blowing at the mobo was at 3.28Ghz 1.45v VCORE (Max temp 81C...ZOMFGBBQOHSHEET). Can do more I think. Guess either mobo limitation or RAM limitation
