i tried lower multiplier, same
+0.2V on chipset, +0.2V on FSB voltage
ram is running 4 4 4 12 2V 1:1 FSB
any idea?
spec below
E2160
965S3 F9(tried F8 F10 same result)
Crucial Ballistix PC5300
X1950pro
Audigy
Western 160GB RAID 0

and i found my system shut down everytime i change the MIB setting, n power on by itself back, issit normal?

if still cant, then i will try it on my brother DS3
i m expecting 3.4ghz from tis tongue.gif
but still, it is a lot faster than my previous processor, i can sense the difference

Added on June 21, 2007, 4:31 pmup vcore doesnt help, i guess i got a bad batch of 2160 vmad.gif

i notice some weird thing, now i m running 1.45V, if i up the vcore to 1.46 or somthing higher, it wont boot.

have to wait my ram cooler to arrive first, the crucial is super damn hot, scare it will be spoilt.

QUOTE(kucingfight @ Jun 21 2007, 06:17 PM)
@superpc, mayb try some bios mod or something. U can try reading around S3 tips and workarounds. Plenty of it. It will help a lot. Cant help much here as i haven got any experience with it
*
okay~but there is no modded bios out there for S3 i think, all for DS3

thanks for help icon_rolleyes.gif

Flashed the FP-IP9's BIOS to BETA 14 and guess what? It blinkin works, altho funnily, only at FSB's of 333Mhz and beyond with setting Unlinked. Otherwise tak boleh boot. Currently at stock volts 3.0Ghz priming away. Stock aluminium heatsink in use till can find good one second hand (Temps 73C according to sensor, which I don't trust). Max with the assistance of a Japan Servo 120mm blowing at the mobo was at 3.28Ghz 1.45v VCORE (Max temp 81C...ZOMFGBBQOHSHEET). Can do more I think. Guess either mobo limitation or RAM limitation
*
speedfan read the correct voltage
other program take the tjunction of intel as 100C, which is 85C in truth

yeah I think so but speedfan seems a bit cacat in detecting voltages. So think I'll try gauging using Core Temp instead.
*
core temp same for me, reading wrong voltage

QUOTE(gengstapo @ Jun 21 2007, 08:37 PM)
sorry f0r askin' ya..
wat is hardware dya use??
*
965P-S3, E2160, 1950Pro, Ballistix pc5300 2X1GB, Antec TP-II 550W, WD 160GB X 2 RAID 0, Thermaltake beetle

Dont try to kill ur ram nod.gif

Added on June 21, 2007, 10:42 pmBy the way superpc, dont you think ur beetle is the culprit for not oc any higher? Or maybe not, try to increase Vmch, Vfsb, and Vcore, L2 needs high Vcore, If u want to go 3.3GHz and higher maybe need 1.5v and above.
*
load at 63C high? even my brother watercooling with his 4300 also reach nearly 60C
dunno, maybe i will assemble the thermaltake bigwater left aside weekend

vmch, vfsb, vcore all increased, even tried 0.3 on mch
1.5V vcore doesnt help anything, i tried...

it is jus plain...weird...

Maybe it is ur processor limit at 1.5V. How bout try WC and increase to 1.6V and try to push summore.
*
if tat is the case, i'd better stick with current setting, 1.6V sounds too high for me

QUOTE(pcomet @ Jun 22 2007, 12:16 AM)
I just bought :

C2D 2160
Gigabyte GA-p35-DS3
Galaxy 8600GT (OC)
2 x 1GB Corsair Value Ram
Enermax 460W
1 160GB HDD
1 Imation DVD writer
Audigy 2zs

Possible oc the proc and the GPU for more better performance?Just go for some safe OC then should be ok , coz dun have bigger cooler~
Let me know how to oc it , pm me or post here . tqtq

If later i change my ram to 2gb xms 800 corsair ram will it betteR?
*
google and search button are ur best fren

performance ram giv u more bandwidth, and better overclockability, if u r going to run it at default speed, it doesnt make much difference

technically, it's just branding to be honest. E2160 still utilises Conroe cores so it has every right to be called a C2D. Pentium is an old name which Intel would wanna leave behind ever since they realised their extended pipelining disaster of Pentium 4
*
true, technically biggrin.gif tat's why i say "stupid naming system"
i reli wonder wat is their intention for naming the conroe "Pentium"
