Excuse me, what was the fuss about the debit card? The rate is good enough to offset any annual fee, let alone that it is free.

TS, it seems like your thread is getting traction, doesn't seems like less people are talking about it.
This is one of the better products coming from from SCB CASA with interest rates that could challenge the FDs yet with flexibility of deposit and withdrawal...
As for the debit card, just get it as you can withdraw from ANY bank ATM with MEPS without the withdrawal fee of RM4 which is waived after you meet the min deposit amt.
But note not to withdraw from ATM (non-bank) located inside 7-11, the withdrawal fee is not waived off according to the bank.

Also the CS I dealt with said to avoid CIMB as somehow they refuse to waive that bank.

The rm4 will be waived by scb, so not sure if you got it right... Nothing to do with CIMB as far as I m concerned Edit typo This post has been edited by markedestiny: Feb 18 2020, 11:11 AM

They didn't try to sell me anything but I already own 2 credit cards with them.

Isn't it drag down the percentage YOU select the unit trust (with the minimum 2.5 % sales charge), so YOU need to blame YOURSELF if you selected one with shitty return. Overall this deal is great, you only need to put 1k a month in unit trust for one year and can enjoy the fat 2% bonus interest on the PrivSaver. So the interest return will definitely be unbeatable, if you feel uncomfortable with the potential that you get negative return from the unit trust investment, stick to the 4.0% for deposit and spend.

PSA / just one acc - all those withdrawals are free regardless which atm use. So use tried bank linked atms and not having issue. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « some twister roll for debit card problem » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « As for the debit card. There’s a way to go around it. But that’s gonna take time. Not sure if anyone has used / heard of just one account?
There’s a way to go around the fees if anyone of u don’t feel like paying it. The troublesome cheapo way lol
First. U get Just one account. For the first month. Keep the acc balance at zero. Hence you won’t be charged.
Then on the following month you open PSA. Ask for the debit card tagged you just one to be moved to PSA. Leave your just one at zero as u don’t intend to use. You ‘moved’ card from just one to PSA won’t be charged.

RM1k a month only gets you 2% for the first 20k. https://av.sc.com/my/content/docs/campaign-tc-psa.pdfdo your own calculation on whether the sales charge is worth the 2% extra interest.
