(4) I've used SC credit card before and had to cancel because the rewards and cashback pales in comparison to MBB cards. this drops my potential Privilege returns by another 1.5%. This strengthens point (1).
Actually SCB credit cards currently are among the easiest way to earn cashback. Don't just look at %. Liverpool FC gives you 5% if you spend 2k, AND accepts BigPay reloads, so you can guarantee RM50 (the cap) every month. Effective cashback 2.5%.

Can other CC give more than that, not for any and all spend. E.g. monthly insurance, TNB payment, government payment et. al.

Just opened this yesterday. They call it 'super-salary', so it doesn't pay out interest but profit. I was assured that everything is the same (RM3k deposit for +2%, RM1k spend for +1.5%)

Funnily enough Saadiq branch doesn't do CC at all....

I can't find the option to do one time transfer like other bank.
*
Not possible. Just need to add the account, transfer, then delete it later.

Source: my wife used SCB for years and years di since even before DuitNow. After a while I look at her transfer screen also penat, got dozens of saved.

Wow, opening PSA is superbly fast at the booth; just few minutes!

I asked the bank staff on duty if any document needed for opening PSA.
The designated bank staff at the booth asked me if I have SC credit card and I said yes.
Then she just asked for me IC for biometric verification and print out the slip. She even filled the forms for me. No need to present at the branch at all.
I did ask if debit card is required and she said not necessary needed.
Once completed, she gave me a free gift of SC KLM backpack.
*
As mentioned above, without debit card you won't be able to get the credit card spending criteria fulfilled. So you won't get 4% rate.

Thanks for the reminder.
I have forwarded the TnC and highlight Clause 15 to her.
I asked her to go to clarify with her team/superior.
If debit card is needed and FOC, no harm to get it.
*
It's FOC on application but RM8 annual fee according to the CS I dealt with.

TS, it seems like your thread is getting traction, doesn't seems like less people are talking about it.

This is one of the better products coming from from SCB  CASA with interest rates that could challenge the FDs yet with flexibility of deposit and withdrawal...

As for the debit card, just get it as you can withdraw from ANY bank ATM with MEPS without the withdrawal fee of RM4 which is waived after you meet the min deposit amt.

But note not to withdraw from ATM (non-bank) located inside 7-11, the withdrawal fee is not waived off according to the bank.
*
Also the CS I dealt with said to avoid CIMB as somehow they refuse to waive that bank.

You will be charge rm4 by SCB for each withdrawal, not CIMB. The rm4 will be waived by scb, so not sure if you got it right... Nothing to do with CIMB as far as I m concerned

Edit typo
*
They said CIMB themselves will charge RM1 which cannot be refunded by SCB.

I have been holding this Super Salary-I for many years n wasn't aware of this. OK time to start using it instead of opening a new account. The benefits end in 2021 too?
*
The name shown in website is:-

Super Salary-i (Payroll) Account

And yah benefits till 2021. Better than FD for that period.

RM0 for me. But maybe special case as I already had a stan chart credit card (but not savings account). The CS officer just told me to transfer money in from another bank account once the account showed up on my online banking portal.

I am not as rich as many other posters in this forum, so my intended balance in Privilege$aver savings account is less than RM 1000.
*
If your intended balance is less than 1000 then over the course of 1 year (at the 2% bonus interest) it is only RM25 interest. Why would you look for a high-interest savings account and then put relatively small amounts inside? Doesn't make sense. Save your hassle, get a BSA at a convenient bank to you with free debit card and no annual fees.

Hi guys,

Just applied for this account mid month, having moved from OCBC 360. Anyone notice any discrepancy in the calculation for the spend bonus (1.5%) for March? From my calculations it is more like 1% (and I've factored in the fact that the spend bonus only applies to MAB up to 100,000)

So conclusion from me it was more like 0.5% (base) + 2% (save) + 1% (spend). I to plan to call the bank and clarify why this is. Just wondering if anyone has noticed this? If your MAB is less than 100,000 the spend bonus should be 0.75 times of your save bonus.
*
Mine is almost exactly 0.75 time, full month of March.

Hibah should be Base Interest (0.1%)
Hibah Bonus For The Month XXXX should be Deposit or Save Bonus Interest (2%)
Bonus-Hibah-Card Spend should be Card Spend Bonus Interest (1.5%)
*
My descriptions with a Saddiq account look like this:-

HIBAH CREDIT - 0.1%
BONUS HIBAH FOR THE MONTH 0520 - 2%
BONUS INTEREST-CARD SPEND - 1.9% (dunno where the 0.4% came from this month)

Surprised to see Interest word there, checked back even past month also had the same description. Haram wei =p

I'm holding the Islamic account for this as I just happened to apply for it in a Saadiq branch. Can confirm that spending must be on a Stan Chart credit card (I've never spent from my debit card). And must be AFTER opening the account, spend from before is not counted.

However, I hv respected the min 3k in one transfer into the account. Anyway, I hv sent a secure mail to SCB about it.
*
Same thing for me. I fulfilled min 3k in one transfer as of 25th of Sep (and again on 29th). Perhaps it is just later to come in.

thanks for the confirmation.

Im sure many would be confused as well by the AND operator as well. because normally, for the first clause, we interpret better with operator OR.
*
The 'and' refers to the banks, not the cards. You cannot just read one sentence and ignore the context around it. This is standard usage for SC because they have two registered entities.

2. To participate, customers must;
a) Have their Conventional CASA or Islamic CASA [only for Tawarruq based Islamic Savings and Current Account] application successfully approved within the campaign period and maintain all their accounts with the bank in good standing during the campaign period [“Eligible Customers”]
*
Doesn't point a mean all of us not valid to enter since our accoutns were approved before the campaign period? Is this an acquisition campaign?

SC messaged to request confirmation if I made those transactions.
Good measure...even though the amount is only 1 RM @

Their system is 'tripped' by frequency, not just by amount.
