Can try to gather more evidence and lodge report to MCMC. See how they respond.
It's about time they join up, since their fibre subs is only a small percentage. I am on Digi fibre, and hopefully their marriage will result in improve routing.

Well I already lodged to MCMC. I was told to contact Celcom again by MCMC and need to provide them with proof I provided to MCMC. I should've recorded the call that I had with one of their customer service rep last time. I remember he said the purpose of the speed cap was to save bandwidth around the time I mentioned. I paid for it and they chose to do that? Like wtf πŸ€£πŸ˜‘

Will there be any price adjustment or offer for existing Celcom fibre customer with 300mbps after Celcom and Digi launched their new fibre plan

I have read the FAQs for CelcomDigi Fibre.
It seems CelcomDigi Fibre is different from the old Celcom Fibre and Digi Fibre.
And you need to change to the new plans to get CelcomDigi branding.
So confusing.
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Maybe for now you will run on existing international routing until you change to CelcomDigi Fibre?
πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

In that case have to scrutinize the FAQ to find out if there is any catch on this new plan. My contract is until end of November.

I agree. They shouldn't apply this stupid speed capped. Try to see what Celcom has to say about this.

100mb is believable.
10mb we suspect you are sort of tech illiterate or something and made a mistake somewhere in the router setup or simply downloading from a single, slow server.

10MB/s is about 80Mbps which is usually acceptable if you connect to other servers, but 2MB/s or 16Mbps without VPN, that a bit weird and not acceptable if you run OOKLA or any speedtest from local server.

Currently using their Skyworth Router. Definitely not a fan. Better upgrade to something better than the stock router

Why is it that when I enquired Celcom store they show me that the lowest fibre is rm90 per month, 50mbps (20mbps up). They told me there's no 30mbps package.

Hi guys, I have 10 months contract left with this Celcom Timur Sabah infra 20Mbps and applied to relocate to a new place that has only TM infra.

They forced me to switch to TM infra with package that is more expensive and renew contract for 24 months again.

I feel like it's quite unfair to me, it is a standard thing where new location don't have celcom infra then they forced you to switch to TM infra with higher package and renew contract?

after merger they streamline with Digi offering. Dropped old Celcom 30mbps and keep Digi's 50mbps instead.

pretty much. they can't simply offer arbitrary package speed when they don't own the physical fiber ports.

relocate shouldn't reset contract, but since you effectively moving to the whole different service it's not unexpected if it must involve termination first.
I think this is an outlier case, you need to talk to higher cs. if you just ask at counter or 1st level cs they will just give you canned response.

would be interesting to find out if the new CelcomDigi plans allows you to request public IP as per Celcom, or completely CGNAT like Digi.

The customer service did tell me that they would terminate my account first then only sign up a new service with Celcom that is using Unifi infrastructure.

So basically, it means they forced me to take the new 24 months of contracts and pay RM200 if wanted to relocate, or else I would need to pay the RM500 to terminate the service.

Thanks for your reply and I had just lodged a complain to MCMC. Hopefully everything goes well.

If worse to worse, any celcom home fibre package that using TM infrastructure is worth to subscribe?

depends on your previous experience?
Fiber infra is just a physical medium; since last mile degradation is pretty much eliminated with fiber, performance characteristics would be exactly same since it connects through same gateway (AS10030).
